Rebecca Soler absolutely KILLED the narration.
My first time through this story, I almost quit it multiple times before Tairn showed up. This was my second time through and I felt the same way. 😆 The story starts becoming more addictive around the halfway point, I'd say... then the last 1/4 or 1/3 or so... dang. Brutal. Absolutely fantastic story telling.

I was ready for it to be over by the halfway point, but there was still so much more. 😅 It just kept going and as someone who's never watched/read 50 Shades OR Twilight, I can only imagine how perfectly awful this combination was. 🙈 With his disturbingly long fingers and sometimes shimmering skin... it was truly a literary masterpiece. I started trying to tag funny parts, but then realized it was cackling almost nonstop, so I stopped.
For real, it's just stupidly funny. Sooooooooo over the top. 😆 3⭐️ is still a great book in my mind, but it was so much I actually had to turn it off a few times for a breather. lol

I didn't think it would hurt quite as bad the second time around, but I think it may have actually been worse this time. Over the course of eight books, Sarah J Maas wove a world full of wonder and such amazing characters that it was truly heartbreaking to see some of their ends... or their pain. She really does have a talent for pulling us in to her world.

Gaaaaaah. I forgot so many of the small details in this series! 😭💜 So many feeeeeeeels. I honestly kind of want to get a little battered copy of this series just go to through and highlight all my favorite bits. 🥹 Aelin's depression while training with Rowan... their friendship.
And the people that read it and say they don't like Manon's chapters. 🤯 It boggles me. Lol. Manon and Abraxos... her bond with that li'l wyvern is something else entirely. 🥰

Ugh, I listened to this first this time around and it is forever the way I will recommend it to others. Assassin's Blade fiiirrrrrst. Gutting. So many emotions. So many characters. So much love and dislike already with only the prequel. Can't wait to continue with my second listen of this series. 🥰🥲

Oh good gravy, I can't believe how much of these books I forgot. Lol. It's truly ridiculous, just like with ACOTAR... it's obvvvvious I've listened to them before, but with as much as there is COMING in the storyline, it completely erased some of the awesomeness that happened in the earlier books.

How foolish I was a year ago. I only gave it 3⭐️. How shameful. It's so fun to go through for a second listen knowing what I know about the future. SJM really is wonderful at sneaking things in early on.
