Terrible

Started out really strong and has a great premise. However, the longer it goes on, more and boring it gets right no.

Boring battle scenes
Revisado: 12-21-23
Very disappointed, perhaps Follett’s most bland work yet. Huge jumps in plot line and ending was unfulfilled. Kingsbridge deserved a better ending. I did like the tie-ins to the cathedral.

Historia
Citadel is the only human city on the alien planet Edalide, ruled by the biweekly tides that bring both deadly danger and much-needed resources. But the drowning waters, constant threat of starvation, and eternal cold aren’t the most dangerous challenge. For the Flooded Forest is ruled by demons: monsters from Hell sent by their vengeful god as penance for their ancestors’ rebellion. To save their souls and return to their former glory, Citadel must kill every single one. Or so they believe.

Very much enjoyed this and well recommended. Depth of characters was outstanding! Lost one star due to ending: it feels unfulfilled and seems rushed. Otherwise a great story and worth your time.

Painful and where is Matthew Corbett?
Revisado: 07-04-22
I love the Matthew Corbett series, but this one was a stinker! Way too much time spent on back story of other characters. I’m here for Corbett, not an overly long story about a horse (Nemesis). Book seems like a total filler. Please let the story arc progress.

Horrible, just a mess.
Revisado: 03-19-22
Possibly the worst listen on Audible. I’m 2.5 hours into the story and can’t tell where it’s going. I’m asking aloud “What is the plot?” Although incredibly accurate, especially in the details, this is simply a boring listen. I cannot recommend and I’m angry I wasted a valuable credit on this audiobook.

Historia
Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

It just would not end. Cain Mutiny was fantastic, Winds of War was pretty good, but this just went on and on. Cannot recommend this as an audible book whatsoever.
