Historia
This is my first job as a housekeeper, but Evan Warner doesn’t need to know that. It’s the first of many lies I’ll tell him. He just lost his wife, Lola, and now he and his young daughter Jessica are adrift. But no amount of cleaning will rid this house of the secrets that have seeped into the cracks. I never forgave Lola for what she did to me. But I can’t let Evan get away with her murder.

Predictable and unreasonable ending
Revisado: 08-05-24
Good narrator. Limited plot twists and predictable villain. Several things in the ending were just dumb moves for some of the smarter characters. Disappointed in the ending.

Historia
One sunny August afternoon, the residents of Cedar Close throw their annual summer barbecue. Children play in the cherry-tree lined street, tables are laden with food, and the wine is flowing. For Laurie Mills, it’s her first time meeting the neighbours. And it’s the first time she discovers her husband, Robert, is having an affair. Cedar Close has always been a nice place to live - a quiet suburban street where everyone looks out for one another and bad things don’t happen. Until late one evening, when Robert Mills is found dead in his bedroom.

Good storyline beware of blasphemous language
Revisado: 05-28-24
I listened to another Dan Riley story that was pretty clean: little language and no explicit sex scenes. This one has both.

Good Story-Slow Narration
Revisado: 06-27-23
As a descendent of Irish immigrants, a life long Kansan and a Kansas State graduate this book as written for me! The narrator was so slow I played the entire book at 1.2X speed.

Loved This Story…
Revisado: 06-20-23
The reader was too slow, but the story tender, Christ honoring, and uplifting (in the end).
