Historia
Ordered by Gabriel Seth to secure Cretacia, Chaplain Dumah and Apothecary Barachial set course for the Flesh Tearers' homeworld. But when they finally lay eyes on it once more, will they find a garrison standing firm, or a desolate wasteland scoured by their enemies? The Space Marines must walk in the footsteps of their chapter's mythic founder, and along the way they will learn what it means to embrace the Wrath of the Lost – or die trying.

Very poor attempt at Flesh Tearers depiction.
Revisado: 12-04-24
I am very disappointed in this purchase. Couldn’t even finish listening to it. The story line is stupid. Author was writing for a five year olds. Characters a hollow and one dimensional. The Flesh Eaters story from WD Index Astartes article is much better than this crap.

Historia
The Exorcists are a Space Marine Chapter unlike any other. To combat the forces of Chaos, they willingly accept daemonic possession, knowing that once it is purged their shattered souls will no longer be susceptible to corruption. Those who fail the banishment trials become Broken Ones – living prisons for the terrors expelled from their brethren. Should such desperate measures become known to the wider Imperium, the Chapter would stand accused of the vilest of heresies.

Just poor writing.
Revisado: 10-29-24
Very mediocre writing. I would even call it a typical Bolter P…. A shame really, Exorcists as a chapter had a lot of potential for reach and developed backstory. Instead they got this… will try to avoid this author’s writing in the future.

When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.

why did narrator do such a terrible job?
Revisado: 12-07-22
Read this book years ago. Excellent story from Dan Abnett. if I am not mistaken it was first titan story in 40k books.
That being said, narrater did a horrible job with this book. Monotone voce fit to read religious texts not to narrate the book. very disappointing....

Historia
The scattered worlds of the Elara's Veil nebula were once protected by the oath of unity sworn by three mighty Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. The Star Scorpions were undone by flaws in their genetic coding. The Celestial Lions were ravaged by the Inquisition for sins they did not commit. Now, after hundreds of years, only the Emperor's Spears still keep their vigil. They are barbarian watchmen against the Outer Dark, bloodied but unbroken in their long duty.

Good book but narration is terrible...
Revisado: 11-19-19
Purchased this book because I am a big fan of ADB. As I was listening to the book I was highly disappointed. Narration was really terrible. I realize that female narrator was essential for the storyline but the actor was clearly not suitable for this particular book. It really spoiled my enjoyment of the storyline, that was very nice. Narration of "Black Atonement" was done much better and any of those voices would have been better here.
P.S. If it was an attempt at Russian accent the lady failed terribly. I am a native speaker. We do not sound like that.

One of the worst book in HH series.
Revisado: 08-24-18
Was buying all HH books... Up to this point DA ones and Batttle for the Abyss were the worst books in this series, but I think this one can compete with them. If you do not read/listen to this book you are not going to miss anything. The story was as primitive as it can be... Very poor depiction of primarchs.

Historia
Darkness approaches Dominicus Prime, a literal Season of Night that brings with it portents, madness and strange happenings. Standing alone as a beacon against the darkness is the Monastery of the Last Candle, a temple to the holy light of the Emperor. As the bishops and the cardinals vie for power and influence, a crisis looms among the Pilgrim Drift who are starving in their droves. Discord is rife, and there are whispers of a rising cult, one committed to blood and horror.

Big fan of Inquisition... purchased this book because of that. Was very disappointed. Storyline is very confusing, characters are not well developed. Feels like “Horusian” theam was an afterthought for the author.
