Historia
As Marat's siege engine bores through the Tower, erupting inside ringdoms and leaving chaos in its wake, Senlin can do nothing but observe the mayhem from inside the belly of the beast. Caught in a charade, Senlin desperately tries to sabotage the rampaging Hod King, even as Marat's objective grows increasingly clear. The leader of the zealots is bound for the Sphinx's lair and the unimaginable power it contains.

I guess we wait for more?
Revisado: 12-04-21
I really wanted to rate this higher as, until the last 2-3 chapters, this was by far my favorite book in the series; there is beautiful prose, sometimes subtle, sometimes biting social commentary, and terrific character development. Unlike others, I enjoyed that Senlin became a bit of a background character, mostly because the author seemed to insist that despite all his trials he never change.
That said, the novel's "ending" resolves almost nothing, and, in fact, the end of the novel introduces even more plot points that the author doesn't deign to even begin to explain....four books of world building seemingly cast aside for a strange twist that presumably needs another book or series to pay off.

Historia
Beyond the edge of the galaxy lies the Unknown Regions: chaotic, uncharted, and near impassable, with hidden secrets and dangers in equal measure. And nestled within its swirling chaos is the Ascendancy, home to the enigmatic Chiss and the Nine Ruling Families that lead them. The peace of the Ascendancy, a beacon of calm and stability, is shattered after a daring attack on the Chiss capital that leaves no trace of the enemy.

Thrawn continues to be solid
Revisado: 10-29-21
Bit heavy handed on the sound effects, but otherwise solid production. Great narration. Story a little slow at times and flashback structure seemed unnecessary.

Historia
The Tower of Babel is proving to be as difficult to reenter as it was to break out of. Forced into a life of piracy, Senlin and his eclectic crew are struggling to survive aboard their stolen airship as the hunt to rescue Senlin's lost wife continues. Hopeless and desolate, they turn to a legend of the Tower, the mysterious Sphinx. But help from the Sphinx never comes cheaply, and as Senlin knows, debts aren't always what they seem in the Tower of Babel.

Great story, odd audio at times.

Something about the audio mixing made "S" sounds incredibly harsh and near impossible to listen to at medium-high levels. Otherwise great.

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

As the headline states, Scalzi give yet another excellent space drama debut and Wheaton's performance was impeccable; can't wait for part 2!

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Was World War Z worth the listening time?
The unabridged version is definitely worth the time. Skip this edited version.
Any additional comments?
My biggest beef with this audiobook is that it is the abridged version, and when I got it no unabridged version was available (that came ~7 years later). So not only did I not get the entire novel when I bought this originally (which I bought not for myself but for someone who was struggling with the text and needed a little extra help), but I am forced to either re-buy the book now or just be stuck with half the story.

Historia
The ruling Asharites of Al-Rassan have come from the desert sands, but over centuries, seduced by the sensuous pleasures of their new land, their stern piety has eroded. The Asharite empire has splintered into decadent city-states led by warring petty kings. King Almalik of Cartada is on the ascendancy, aided always by his friend and advisor, the notorious Ammar ibn Khairan - poet, diplomat, soldier - until a summer afternoon of savage brutality changes their relationship forever.
