Excellent addition to the story line

Loving the characters more and more as the story goes on. Like that there is not one main character but many to love. The story is progressing nicely. Can’t wait for the next one.

The story was not overly engaging. Too much time is spent going around and around minute details of the RPG system. A few hours in and the narrator was grating. She brings up her voice on the last word of a sentence often and it sounds really odd. So much so that it’s difficult to listen to after a bit. Unfortunately I would not recommend or continue this series.

Wow! A must listen.

Wow! I am completely hooked. The story is imaginative, the characters are enjoyable, the creatures are varied. The author does a great job of skipping over fiddly bits by not having a major encounter every 2 seconds while the companions are traveling (much thanks!). It allows the reader to get to meatier parts of the story much more quickly and at a great pace. There are tons of unknowns and new things to find for Richter which keeps the reader engaged. I have just finished the audible version of this book and am super impressed with the choice of narrator. He does a great job with all of the voices. I appreciate not having to listen to monster or character stats every other sentence while battles are taking place. Having the main character only check his status after the battle has passed was a great idea. It helps keep continuity as your listening. I really like the sprite companion Scion, he's just enough of as ass to make me laugh along the way. Only gripe is I am a little unclear if the main character is stuck in the land in his mind, or VR, or if he is going back into the real world in between days or what? I dont mind not understanding as I would much rather enjoy hearing about his adventure. I also enjoy that the story didnt get bogged down with "how am i going to earn enough loot to do XYZ" and then having the character grind away. Its keeping a nice pace with unlocking new things, abilities, items, and moving the story forward. I would highly recommend this book to all.

Awesome follow up to book 1.

Up until a month ago I had never heard of litRPGs. on a whim from a recommendation by audible I tried the first book in this series. I gotta say I was instantly hooked. The characters are like able. The story is awesome to listen to. The layers of intrigue and deceit are remarkable. I highly recommend both the books in this series. Let’s hope Ms Thorn doesn’t make us wait much longer for vol 3. Pleaseeee!!! Release it soon. :) #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

What would have made The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson better?

A different narrator. I found the narrators voice at times breathy and a little creepy sounding.

not really. i dont know of any other books in this genre.

How could the performance have been better?

Followed the premise of your story. It was supposed to be a story about the affect of making porn free to the masses and how it affected others lives and lively hoods. Instead it deteriorated into a hunt for the elusive "stamp man" which has very little to do with the idea of the story.

What character would you cut from The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson?

Jon. His voice was overly breathy at times and often seemed creepy because of the topic he was discussing.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend a pass on this one. I know its free, but there is a reason for that I think. As the famous saying goes "nothing in life is free."

Magic filler 2.0

SKIP this book. It's 10hrs of wasted rambling. I wish I wouldn't have preordered it and read the reviews. The first three books were good and this was terrible. No real danger. No real story advancement. Did the author just want more $$? the last 2 minutes of the book had the only real intrigue and it was mediocre at best. Do your self a favor and wait for the next book. You won't be missing anything. Actually here I'll save you time(spoiler): the whole book is about killing dragons that can't hurt anyone or do anything interesting. The end.
