Historia
Lexie Preston hasn’t done much right in her life—at least, not according to her father—but Colton Derricks appears to be the exception. Handsome, wealthy, and successful, Colt is everything a girl should want...though lately Lexie feels less like she’s been chosen and more like she’s been captured.

Real plot and characters
Revisado: 04-29-25
Jake and Lexie’s story is one that will quickly have you reaching for your phone to keep listening. The characters are well developed and relatable. The plot does not feel contrived like many contemporary romance novels. Several scenes will make you laugh while others will give you happy warm fuzzy feelings.
I had already read the print version of the book but loved the story and wanted to audio version. I was not disappointed! The narration was well done and I enjoyed the story all over again. I can’t wait for book 2 in the series!

Historia
On a summer day in 1914, a nineteen-year-old Serbian nationalist gunned down Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo. While the world slumbered, monumental forces were shaken. In less than a month, a combination of ambition, deceit, fear, jealousy, missed opportunities, and miscalculation sent Austro-Hungarian troops marching into Serbia, German troops streaming toward Paris, and a vast Russian army into war, with England as its ally. As crowds cheered their armies on, no one could guess what lay ahead in the First World War.

A Great and Easily Disgustable Primer of WW1
Revisado: 11-08-22
It took me about 1 month to finish this book, and I really enjoyed it. I did not know a lot about WW1 and this book really was a great introduction to the subject. Myer does a good job in describing the events of the conflict and how they connected to the political events back in the waring countries. Myer does a good job describing the battles without getting into the weeds, so it is relatively easy to understand what is going on. My only critique is the ending. I feel like he could have expounded more on post war Europe immediately after the war.
