Historia
In Japan, cats are a symbol of good luck. As the myth goes, if you are kind to them, they'll one day return the favor. And if you are kind to the right cat, you might just find yourself invited to a mysterious coffee shop under a glittering Kyoto moon. This particular coffee shop is like no other. It has no fixed location, no fixed hours, and seemingly appears at random to adrift young people at crucial junctions in their lives. It's also run by talking cats.

I like cats
Revisado: 05-05-25
I’m a cat owner. I had previously enjoyed the audible book “We’ll Prescribe you a Cat.” I listened to this book while walking outside for exercise. The book is calming to listen to with very little in it to shock you or trigger you. It got repetitive at times. However, I did enjoy each characters struggle and the hope and inspiration they found at the cafe. The astrology part was interesting, but different cause I don’t know much about it. It’s a good read for those who like cats and need some calm infused into their day.

Historia
Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she's thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office.

Rewarding to Listen Too
Revisado: 05-05-25
I liked listening to this on Audible. It’s fun and it’s inspiring. If it ever gets made into a movie- I will definitely watch. It’s warm and it can resonate with those of us who are grieving.

Historia
As the child of a Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler, Margo Millet's always known she’d have to make it on her own. So she enrolls at her local junior college, even though she can’t imagine how she’ll ever make a living. She’s still figuring things out and never planned to have an affair with her English professor—and while the affair is brief, it isn’t brief enough to keep her from getting pregnant. Despite everyone’s advice, she decides to keep the baby, mostly out of naiveté and a yearning for something bigger.

Very Good
Revisado: 12-15-24
This was so good. It was slice-of-life, but funny and enjoyable. Complex hard subjects were told in a story that people can relate to. I finished this fast. I hope the movie can tell the story as well as the audible book did.

I really enjoyed listening to this. My Bible study group devoted a 7 week study to “The Dreamgiver.” Remembering what faith looks like motivated me in my own journey. Having a witness to help me handle obstacles and setbacks is quite valuable. The pearls in this book are essential reminders of how to fight the good fight.

Authenticity
Revisado: 10-24-23
I’ve been focusing on being authentic and on having authentic relationships. That means no more people pleasing. I’m trying to have better boundaries that protect my energy and my purpose. This book helps me to fulfill that goal. Thank you Joyce Meyer for being the best ever. For focusing on love and how to walk it out: with God, with myself, With others.

I have so much to learn
Revisado: 06-07-23
I need better boundaries. This book is the 2nd one I’ve listened to about boundaries.
Sometimes people can make you feel crazy when you disagree with them. The gaslighting is addressed. It’s so helpful to feel the support of a friend when you listen to this book.
I, also, like the professional therapist’s input. It really validates the damage done by ignoring dysfunction. It draws a hard line underscoring the importance of being in the driver’s seat of your life. You can’t be passive and succeed. You’ve got to stand for something. You have to pick a side sometimes as an adult.
I choose me.
