Historia
Colonel Dan Wilson’s story is a classic example of gross military injustice. His thirty-nine year career spanned the Cold War through defeating ISIS and everything in between from 1981 to 2020. He was a “Mustang” Marine infantry officer with eleven overseas deployments into danger zones, and multiple combat tours. Leading Marines during combat operations, he was repeatedly shot at, mortared, rocketed, even surviving a “friendly” fire incident in Kuwait, during Desert Storm.

A Terrible Story of UCMJ BS
Revisado: 02-17-25
It is a shame that this man had to write this story about being wrongfully persecuted and nearly destroyed by the outdated military justice system and a completely sick in the head group of accusers, bullies and straight up incompetent losers. The "evidence" submitted by the "prosecution" was a travesty of justice at least and a complete crime in and of itself at the most. Another good example of the wannabe cops at NCIS trying to fry someone at any cost. With any luck, that "agency" will be one of the ones that is finally closed down for good. To the Colonel, I think it was courageous for you to admit your own issues and having the courage to overcome them when so many arrogant misfits in uniform refuse to even try. Oh, btw....former USMC Mustang/Infantry Officer here with two Combat Action Ribbons and two Combat "V"s.....also a real cop/criminal investigator who has investigated sex crimes. People need to read and heed this.....it happens all the time to innocent servicemen.

Historia
Audie Murphy was a desperately poor eighteen-year-old orphan when he joined the Army, nineteen when he first saw a buddy die from an enemy bullet and an enemy die from one of his own. By VE day, he had killed at least 240 Germans, had single-handedly destroyed a German tank in one battle and held off six tanks in another, and had become the most decorated soldier in American history, winning every medal his country offered, including the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Historia
The Lords of Discipline is a novel about coming of age, brotherhood, betrayal, and a man’s forging of his own personal code of honor. Will McLean, a senior on the cadets’ honor court, is an outsider by nature: a basketball star at a school that prizes military prowess above athletics, a military man in training who dares to question the escalating Vietnam war. And yet his greatest struggle will be with the corrupt institution of which he is a part.

Narrator Ruined the Book
Revisado: 12-19-23
The story is compelling and descriptive but the narrator absolutely destroyed the whole thing. He's melodramatic, shouting at times for no reason and mumbling at others making it hard to listen to. The only reason I finished the book was because of the story but the reader made it almost unbearable. Not recommended.

Narrator is Terribly Annoying
Revisado: 06-13-23
Good book and great story. The narrator REALLY over-did it. He ruined the story with his semantics and histrionics. Needs to be redone with a different reader.

Pearlman Should be Writing for the Enquirer
Revisado: 03-23-23
First off, Payton is one of my heroes so I'm a little skewed. That being said, this author is nothing more than a muckraking scumbag who made money disrespecting a good family and man who truly accomplished great things . This is made obvious because he wrote this TRASH after Payton died. If Pearlman had any class, he'd donate money from this book to charity. I can't believe I actually paid for this asshole to completely trash an athlete who accomplished more in a few years of his life than this "writer" ever will. For every positive thing he wrote, he discounts it with cheap shots at a guy simply for being a human being. PLEASE boycott Pearlman. The narrator was TERRIBLE.. he kept trying to do accents that came off as crap...very annoying to listen to. Audible should absolutely get rid of this "book". It's crap.

Pointless and Boring
Revisado: 03-14-23
This is NOT a story about riding in an OMG..... it's about a guy who loves motorcycles and gets together with a bunch of other guys who like motorcycles and rides all over the western US during his formative years. Nothing else. Boring as hell, definitely misleading. I'd like my money back.

Historia
For all of human history, men and women came together to form families. It may have been common, it may have been routine, but that is what they did. Generation after generation, for all of human history, men and women formed families. That is until now. Though humanity has never been to the point where women and men abandoned one another before, that doesn't mean there is not a limitless number of things life offers that gives it value. Whether it's hobbies, vice, philosophy, religion, your career, or your friends, the world offers a limitless menu for you to choose from.

Terrible Narrator; Ho-Hum Story
Revisado: 10-20-22
Former JTAC here (Afghanistan). I was hoping the author would use this opportunity to tell the laymen out there how critical that skill set was in Afghanistan but instead he used it as a half-assed appeal to emotion. It is the same story most Veteran writers of that war tell without real substance. This narrator absolutely ruined the book.....I could barely finish it due to the terrible over-acting. This guy sounded like a wannabe biker-gang member and really ruined the whole thing. Probably better off reading the hard copy.

Historia
In Everthing Is F*cked, Mark Manson turns his gaze from the inevitable flaws within each individual self to the endless calamities taking place in the world around us. Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment, and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

Waste of Time, Money and Attention
Revisado: 09-26-22
This is a disappointment because the author's first book was much better. There are no personal growth tips or insight here. Talking about Nietzsche and Freud, the author spends an ENTIRE chapter referencing ice cream and how wanting it sets people up for failure. This is a cynical take on current societal sentiments that everyone already knows but no ideas on how to confront the challenges. This is a ripoff..... don't waste your time.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Impossible to Listen
Revisado: 09-14-22
The story might be a good one had the author/narrator not been drowning in his own self importance so badly. A great actor, good guy and good writer, Matthew ruins the audiobook with his self-indulgent outbursts (GREEENLIGHT!!!!). He is so obnoxious it makes the book awful to listen to. I couldn't finish it because I couldn't stand listening to him any longer.
