I liked the first novel in the series better. For me this was too relationship/romance driven & didn’t follow the story of the investigation well. It was more of a romance novel with a “mystery” as a side storyline. This series had some potential for me & I wanted to like to novel, alas, Texas murder files should be renamed to Texas Romance with a hint of murder.

An entertaining listen

It took me a while to get into this series. I found the main character a bit of a prat (both in the narration & the character). But I’ve come to rather enjoy these books. I find the premise of the series refreshing & the characters entertaining… eventually.
