As always, love the narrator!
Phillip was so disappointing. As a Bridgerton fan, I’m spoiled, so I always assume I’ll be reading about a love match. This marriage is far from it, and Phillip’s inner dialogue confirms his selfishness constantly. He definitely likes sex though!! He frequently recounts his relief following his late wife’s suicide, even comparing her to Eloise DURING sex, and then even says some of the most sexist opinions out loud to Eloise, getting irritated when she takes offense.
I loved the dynamic between the children and Eloise. Honestly, I loved everything about this book EXCEPT for the relationship between Eloise and Phillip. Which made it hard to get through obviously.
If you struggle with depression, skip this one, and if Eloise is one of your faves, be prepared to be a little disappointed.
