A former English teacher at Seattle University, Lyons enhanced his love for poetry by studying the great classical poets in the original Greek and Latin. This anthology is not just for connoisseurs. It is for everyone who enjoys poetry.....

I absolutely love this selection. I've experienced the listening as a transcendental meditation; being taken to alternate places including childhood and other "remote" locations.
I'm hesitant to go back to just reading poetry after this wonderful experience. Thanks for offering the selection.

Historia
The Dalai Lama, at his most compassionate and outspoken, here elaborates and deepens his vision for the nonreligious way. Transcending the mere "religion wars", he outlines a system of secular ethics that gives tolerant respect to religion, those that ground ethics in a belief in God and an afterlife, and those that understand good actions as leading to better states of existence in future lives. And yet, with the highest level of spiritual and intellectual authority, the Dalai Lama makes a claim for what he calls a third way.

My First Audiobook
Revisado: 02-20-12
Excellent choice as a first listen. I've never read any of the Dalai Lama's books, but I'm a Martin Sheen fan, and religion/spirituality is one of my favorite topics.
While I'm still in the early stages of the book, I find Martin Sheen soothing and enthralling as narrator; a wonderful choice for this read.
The book,so far, is quite diverse on the aspects it covers; some more captivating than others.
While I was never really interested in audio books (I love my Kindle), I must say, this favorable experience is, so far, leaving me open to the possibility of future "audio reads", albeit on a narrow, extremely selective basis.
I'm extremely pleased that I was drawn to this book as my first audio read, though nowhere near finished.
