Really wanted to love this book but...
Revisado: 09-10-22
Based on the previous high ratings I was really expecting a good read. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The storyline had potential but it just never got that interesting. The characters just sat around worrying about being eliminated and having sex. The sex scenes added nothing to the story and could have been left out completely. They weren't even that interesting.
I think the biggest issue for me was that I didn't like any of the characters. They not only were unlikeable but very two dimensional. Their characters were not developed well enough to at least make them interesting. I don't have to like every character, but I have to at least feel something about them. I found that I could care less which one of them got eliminated.
The narration was lacking as well. The voices did not really fit the characters, some less than others. I found myself getting really irritated when Tristan was speaking.
I did finish the book but fast forwarded through some of the sections where they droned on about theory. The ending was not a big surprise, I suspected something was not on the up and up based on things that had occurred. But I really like my bad guys to be really bad and Atlas's character just wasn't given enough background and depth to make me feel like he was a threat to anyone, just deceitful.
So overall a big disappointment.

Really enjoyed this installment. Jane Yellowrock is one of my favorite series. While some installments are always better than others, this one was as enjoyable as the first few I listened to. Looking forward to the next listen.

Another enjoyable book in the Charlie Parker serie
Revisado: 11-26-21
While not one of the best in the series, it was still a good listen. The book mainly focuses on Louis and Angel.
I love the way John Connolly writes and I have read everyone of the Charlie Oarker books. This one almost felt like a filler book. As I was listening I thought maybe there would be some storyline that would push the series towards it's conclusion but that didn't seem to be the case either.
But overall I still enjoyed it.

Foul language abounds, story childish and forced
Revisado: 06-10-18
As a Scooby Doo fan I was really looking forward to listening to this but sadly, was very disappointed. Foul language thrown in for ??? couldn't figure out why, it was forced in places where it didn't make sense. The characters were bleh. And the story was dull and slow.
