Boring cannot finish
Revisado: 04-07-25
Two big things.
First, the narration puts me to sleep. Literally! Something about his voice or cadence just makes it droning and dull. I really do not want to listen to him anymore.
Second, the book has lost a lot of what made the first two good. MC is no longer using his knowledge to find the secrets and strength hidden in the tower. Now he just another participant, with a named sword and a skill he didn’t ever earn. There is nothing special about him, no reason to follow him, and no reason to root for him over anyone else. His advantages now are just plot armor random people give him.

Good as a story bad as a book
Revisado: 04-06-25
I was entertained through out. I enjoyed the unique system, but felt the world building could have been fleshed out a little better. Still not sure how the dungeons work as a whole, the tower, the nobles, etc.
My biggest complaint is this written for a web series, meaning it doesn’t feel like a complete story. It just goes on until it’s over. (I know that everything does that) There is no build up, larger conflict, climax, resolution. It just has a “to be continued”

Historia
Reborn on Gryndor with the mythical trait [Divine Witness], Ajax swears to live a life of no regrets. This time, he will seize every opportunity, fight every monster, and plunder every treasure as he enjoys life to the fullest. If only it were that easy. Humans are considered one of the weakest sentient races, confined to their patch of land but that hasn't changed their nature as they fight amongst themselves forced to split their sources of power instead of unite for the greater whole

Good read, but trite tropes.
Revisado: 03-15-25
I enjoyed the plot, characters, and narration. Great story.
A little spoiler
I can’t stand the “I have to hide everything from everyone including my mom”.
People have mana and abilities so it shouldn’t be a huge deal, but his hiding from the people closest seems so stupid. I truly hate this trope. Almost made me quit.

Boring
Revisado: 03-15-25
Nothing particularly wrong with story, and maybe it’s just the narration, but it was just boring. MC was boring, “suspenseful” parts were boring, fights were boring, etc. I made it a few hours (close to half way) before stopping.

Good enough Book but MC so annoying
Revisado: 01-29-25
Oh my god, I cannot stand the MC’s consistent sarcastic inner thoughts. It feels like every other dang sentence is a quip. It gets so repetitive and old fast. I like that the MC is hard working and not OP. I like slow progression. But for some reason I find him too whiny, I don’t like the choices he makes. I guess I just don’t like the MC.
In terms of story. It is a good slow pace slice of life. Well told and seems thought out. There is more to explore, but I probably will not continue series.

Over the top
Revisado: 11-19-24
About 10 hrs into it and just can’t take the narrator anymore. Every single word is given with so much, too much agro. If MC eats a piece of bread it’s at an energy lvl of 10/10 when things are actually intense the narrator is at 50/10. Just too over the top. And sometimes just too weird. I will come back after taking a break. If things change after the breather I will update the review.

Wow MC has no common sense
Revisado: 05-21-24
Ok picture this (no spoiler just a comparative example), MC, a regular 17 year old with regular knowledge, has two apples. Around noon MC gets hungry and cannot figure out why. Around 2 he gets worried since it hasn’t gone away. Around 5 he has tried everything to make it go away, moving, talking, meditating, etc. around 7 he finally remembers his two apples and thinks one may help him. After staring at it for awhile he remembers he can eat them. So he does and his hunger goes away. The next day at noon he gets hungry again and wants it to go away. He sits for an hour wondering why it came back. Then goes through the same kind of routine he did the day before and wonders why he is still hungry. That evening he complains internally that he can’t get rid of hunger and ponders why he could yesterday. Then he remembers he has an apple, maybe that could help. Takes 15 minutes to figure out he can eat this one too. Finally hunger is gone and MC sits there happy but confused on why it just goes away in the evening.
While this is not a literal event in the book, it does capture the intelligence and reasoning of Axel. I made it to chapter 4 and his was just so dense I had to quit. I am glad the audible was free, or I would have been upset with losing a credit to this.

Over dramatic narrator
Revisado: 02-09-24
The narrator is way, way over dramatic. 1/4 of the book sounds like a movie trailer. I was skipping fight scenes towards the end just because I couldn’t stand the cheesy voice. Story for the most part is ok. MC is an idiot more than not. Another “I am a big gamer back home, but apparently only know the bare minimum and never act like it” story. I don’t really feel like there is any real character growth and I lacked any real attachment to the MC. I will not be continuing series.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Can’t take any more
Revisado: 03-17-21
This is the weakest and most inept MC I have ever seen. I get and appreciate the authors attempt to make his transition, into a new world and the pain of losing everything, more realistic. But, he went to far the other way. In addition the MCs personality is so annoying I couldn’t even listen to the book for more than an hour at a time before yelling at my Alexa to stop. The MC handles every conversation with snark, which is funny in small doses, but after hours of the same dang thing over and over and over. I literally yelled out loud “shut up”.
In addition the MC is made to be a side kick, is always a side kick and seems to be lacking anything that makes me want to connect with him. I like almost every other character in the book more than him.
In conclusion this story, world etc has potential but it’s all ruined by the MC
