you had me until you got political. Listen, I don't care who you vote for, you do you. However, when you get political you are going to alienate half, maybe even more than half, of your fan base. I get it, people don't like Donald Trump. You have every right to feel that way. You also have every right to write about your distaste, just as it is my right to stop reading your books, which is a shame, because I was really enjoying the story. You were a pretty good author up until your TDS bled through onto the pages. Famous people will never learn. We read books and watch movies to escape reality for a little while. What we don't want or need is someone shoving their opinions down our throats.

I've loved all tge other books in this series and I thought this one would be the same, however, it's like the author lost steam and this book was the end result. this book is the literal example of how large book anthologies can go extremely wrong. the character development wasn't there, and the story line was non-existent. basically, it felt like she wrote it just to charge money. I'm glad it was free or I'd be pissed. now I'm unsure if I even want to continue on.

I enjoyed this mindless read, however, the pancreatic thing got me. as a woman who nearly died from pancreatitis, and I know exactly how sick a person can be with acute pancreatits, it just isn't feasible that a king is at home dealing with it. first off, I was in the hospital for 6 months. I had a nasogastric tube (a tube fed through my nose into my stomach), and that was attached to suction 24/7. The protocol for any pancreatitis is complete stomach rest. that means no eating, no drinking, and absolutely NOTHING in your stomach, not even bile. The Pancreas is sick to the poi t that your body starts to kill itself. that us why you go on complete stomach rest. I was in so much pain that if you even touched my IV, I would throw up. But since I had an NG tube, all that acid would be sucked right up and all I could do was dry heave. I was fed directly through an IV, but eventually my veins wouldn't support even that, and I had to have a PICC line. in the year it took me to feel better, I had 3 emergency PICC lines put in. I became temporarily diabetic because your Pancreas controls your blood sugars, and after my levels hit 500 and I was on the verge of diabetic shock, I was give insulin to control that. I had CT scans every single day to map the death of my Pancreas, and one day, the doctors told my parents to prepare themselves for my death. once that happened, I had CT scans 2x a day. it was only by the grace if God and a blessing from two Elders I had never met, that I started getting better. It took time. after 6 mo the in the hospital, I was released. I spent another 6 months with a home health nurse who came 3x a day to help my parents take care of me. for 1 entire year I wasnt allowed to eat real food, or drink any water. I was fed TPN(total a

I'm trying to like this story. I really am. But the two main characters are completely unlikable. She is weak-willed and unable to stand up for herself. I get she's shy, she borders on incompetent and socially awkward. The guy straight up is a douche. Nearly 98% of what he says is douchy and incredibly condescending. Also, any CEO would be worried about sexual harassment suits. why he isn't more careful, especially calling all the women babe or honey...then, within what, a couple of weeks, he promotes her to a managerial job based on a week-long "competition"? I don't buy it. No way would a CEO of a multi-million dollar company risk their reputation on such an untried, dorwouldn't. a woman, and if he did, the board certainly wouldn't.
Do you know what else isn't believable? the fact that her grandmother's insurance was canceled. Nope. Medicare can't be canceled, so the fact that she is 500k in debt from cancer treatments. Not believable. To top it all off, the fact that this is more than one book is ridiculous. The author is just trying to make more money. Maybe if your two main characters had been more likable, the books would have done better. Don't waste your time and money.
