I added this in 2019, and because a new episode comes periodically it has been at the top of my library ever since. I want this gone, but there's no option for that.
With all the 1* reviews there is no way this has a 4.8 rating. There needs to be a way to report authors because this is ridiculous.

The flashy action was kinda fun, if a little childish, but when the action is over it's bland at best.
As it goes on it periodically stops everything to bash on the Obama Administration. Write what you want and believe/hate whatever politics you want, but it was forced and heavy handed.

I paused the book I was in the middle of to listen to this when it released. Drew Hayes is in my top three favorite authors, and he didn't disappoint with this one. I enjoyed that he has created the classic set up of Holmes and Watson, and instead of just modernizing it, he tweaked the dynamic. Like most Sherlock remakes it has good humor, good action and leaves you with plenty of good questions and resolutions

This may be one of the most thought provoking books I've ever heard. It's beautifully done as far as plot, characters, and pacing. Where it truly stands out is how deeply you feel the questions it forces you to ask yourself. Questions that may be uncomfortable at first, but make you a better person when it is all over.

The main character sounds like Harry Weinstein. He won't shut up about how good he is in bed to the audience and how he pressures women into having sex for his, sometimes necessary, magic. Disgusting

Rushed, and unmotivated. Great Narrator, though

I really liked book one of this. I enjoyed the political intrigue of book two. Parts of book three felt more like outlined plot points than a story. The political intrigue of the second was almost entirely missing from this, and following the main character was like a video game telling you to "do this thing because the game said so, and you'll figure it out because you're the chosen one". No lore giving any serious backing to claims made by character. No history, except people saying they remember things that would of happened during the books, but were never described at the time. It was all spur of the moment backstory like a improv, or DnD game, instead of a legitimate series.
TLDR
The writer spit out whatever they could to wrap up a story that still didn't have a motivated mission, then filled it with multiple Dues Ex Machina moments

Each part felt like a book onto itself, and the grand finale to this was everything I wanted. The first half of this book was a lot of set up, but had some great twists to keep you going, and the ending was as action packed as a blockbuster movie.

It's been a while since I watched most of the Alien movies, but this radio drama styled reading seemed to capture the mood. I think it wrapped up well, with it happening between Alien and Aliens. Great give away for the 20 year si-fi bonus. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry

A chunk of this book is just rehashing the same discussion for the one or two characters who weren't in the room. It makes whole chapters feel like repeats of the one before.
