Once again, Ray Porter nails the narration. The story is a continuation of the original trilogy, and the further exploration of the Bob-a- verse with new conflicts. But for me, the highlight continues to be the fun and nuanced narration.

I was ready for a light listen regarding a curiosity of mine: hot chili peppers. What I head was so much more. This book selves into the roots is chili’s but also the psyche of chili-heads who love them. It was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. It was well researched and well performed. Overall, it’s HOT!

A ferrari with no motor

Maybe I'm just cranky

I didn't finish listening to the book. Maybe it get's better in the last three hours, but at six hours in I didn't care about any of the characters and outright detested the protagonist. The performance of the material by Rosario Dawson was outstanding and the only reason I lasted as long as I did.
Spoilers: Maybe I'm just a cranky adult with kids, but if my kid destroyed my life's work and occupation, I'd be more than a little upset. She seems mystified as to why her dad is so mad. She's also completely clueless as to why this company wants to get her and possibly kill her. Maybe it has something to do with her blowing up their multi-million dollar machines ON THE MOON where they're not going to be able to replace them. I didn't like her at all.
I love the Martian and couldn't wait for the next novel, but this was a major disappointment.
I never give a negative review of anything. I'd rather just not review it than to spend my time ranting, but six hours of my life are gone hoping the next minute I would start to care for the character or have some sort of intrigue. I'm hoping to spare you, dear review reader, the same fate,
