I listened to this on Audible.

Either the author had several grammatical errors or sloppy writing, or the narrator has. The narrator has a strange cadence as well.

That said, the book does have some useful tips once you get past the above.

It’s not so much “teaching you how to master” self-discipline as a book full of advice and tips for the same.

What can be said about Goggins that hasn’t been said already?

The man is a true testament to what is possible if someone decides and remains committed to becoming the best they can be.

If you want the same for yourself, listen and learn.

This guy is full of poo.

This whole book is him attacking “myths” with attempts at persuasion using rhetoric and “trust me” type assertions. The only “evidence” Dr. Berry presents is, much of the time, “there are no meaningful studies to support this”. Which is to say, a textbook example of the fallacy of ignorance: “because meaningful studies don’t support x, x is not true”

Same logic: Because studies don’t show that putting a stick of dynamite with a lot fuse in your mouth is hazardous, it’s not true.

This book is full of examples like this. If you want actual resources/citations/study names of SUPPORTING evidence, there isn’t any of that either - he’ll tell you to read this book or that book or “google search” it. Seriously.

This book (I got the audio version, which has extra info) is chock full of awesomeness. Incredible amounts of tips, motivation, and advice abound in this book of "how to get what you want".
I cannot recommend it strongly enough!

I won't lie - this book was tough for me to listen to... at first. I was conditioned, like most people, to think that obsession was a bad thing. Now, I understand that obsession ITSELF isn't a bad thing- it's all about WHAT you are obsessed with.

Get the book... get the future YOU want and deserve!

This short, 8 minute audio pamphlet isn't revealing any new or groundbreaking information, and is written in a very general, amateurish format, but I found it to be an enjoyable short listen.

Audible narrator is terrible

The information included in these guides is fairly decent, but the narrator in the Audible version is nearly intolerable. From his nasally monotonous droning to his mispronunciation of common words ("eckspecially", "markmanship", and others), he was by far the most difficult part of the experience to tolerate- and I barely did.

Read the books instead and save yourself some eye rolls.

If anyone remembers Mr. Van Driesen from Beavis and Butthead (the guitar playing hippie teacher), this is what you're in for.

I tried to listen to the content of the lecture but just couldn't get past his voice. It drove me nuts and I ended up returning it for a refund.

Gave 3 stars on content because I didn't finish the whole thing, and I'll give Kornfield the benefit of the doubt on content, but his voice and talking style got 1*

While full of facts and information, this boring and dry reading of whet appears to be a college textbook is w great cure for insomnia. The narrator has the same time as a droning history professor who reads out of his textbook in a freshman college class.
