Historia
Seldom does a book have the impact of Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow. Since it was first published in 2010, it has been cited in judicial decisions and has been adopted in campus-wide and community-wide reads; it helped inspire the creation of the Marshall Project and the new $100 million Art for Justice Fund; it has been the winner of numerous prizes, including the prestigious NAACP Image Award; and it has spent nearly 250 weeks on the New York Times best seller list.

The most devastating book ever written
Revisado: 07-01-15
This book needs to be read by every person. It's filled with facts from front to back. Many of them will be upsetting and unsettling to you. The New Jim Crow is not a myth, it's reality.

Historia
Why are all the major religions consumed with sex? What makes sex so important, whether Buddhism or Islam, Christianity or Mormonism? What is the impact of religion on human sexuality? This book explores this and more. It ventures into territory that has never been examined. You will be surprised at how much religion has influenced your sexuality, who you marry, the pleasure you get or don't get from sex, and what you can do about it.

Great Information, Bad Audio quality
Revisado: 03-18-15
This should have been recorded more professionally. It sounds like Darrel Ray has his mic submerged in water while he is reading. Very unfortunate, because this is such a great book. A bit disappointing to say the least.

Historia
Donald R. Prothero explains the scientific process and why society has come to rely on science not only to provide a better life but also to reach verifiable truths no other method can obtain. He describes how major scientific ideas that are accepted by the entire scientific community (evolution, anthropogenic global warming, vaccination, the HIV cause of AIDS, and others) have been attacked with totally unscientific arguments and methods.

Interesting but very Left-Winged
Revisado: 03-12-15
Donald Prothero has an interesting way of not blatantly inserting his political stance in his writings while bashing right wingers and libertarians at the same time. I enjoyed this book overall. I decided to listen to it more than once because it was that interesting. I paid special attention to the chapters on global warming denial and the dangers of creationism. The chapter of world resources is also very effective as well. Unfortunately I'm not sure that the ones who need to hear this information will be the message.

We are living in the most moral period of our species’ history. Best-selling author Michael Shermer’s most accomplished and ambitious book to date demonstrates how the scientific way of thinking has made people, and society as a whole, more moral. Ever since the Age of Reason and the Enlightenment thinkers consciously applied the methods of science to solve social and moral problems.

Great book, with a few quirks
Revisado: 02-28-15
The co-reader woman has a very robotic voice. Some of the content discussed in this book he already covered in previous books. Overall, I still found it enjoyable.
