Historia
> Walking is not as well known as Thoreau's other works Walden, The Maine Woods, and Civil Disobedience. But it is a good place to start exploring his writing because it was his last book, in 1862, published by the Atlantic Monthly shortly after his death. It is less well known because it is general, as opposed to singular, in focus. It is his summing up of his thoughts on life: One should saunter through life and take notice; one need not go far.

I probably would do better to read this prose in order to better appreciate the individual gems hidden in the Victorian language.

Historia
Plenty of experts argue that anyone who wants to develop a skill, play an instrument, or lead their field should start early, focus intensely, and rack up as many hours of deliberate practice as possible. But a closer look at research on the world’s top performers shows that early specialization is the exception, not the rule. David Epstein examined the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters and scientists. He discovered that in most fields—especially those that are complex and unpredictable—generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel.

provocative, inspiring
Revisado: 09-19-19
I'm always been a big fan of contradicting conventional "wisdom".
So for me, this book was full of provocative ideas of how problems are solved and innovations are discovered. Highly recommended, and worthy of a 2nd and 3rd read.

Historia
You're about to discover the crazy details about Bigfoot/Sasquatch. With the easy access of the Internet, people all over the world have been interested in knowing whether or not Bigfoot exists. While I don't claim to know the answer to that, this book serves as an informative guide that provides confirmed information and is unbiased. There are so many random stories on the Internet with no basis and they serve to misguide the masses.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

at first I wasn't sure what I got myself into with this book. I'm a 54 yr old bearded, American man who works in construction. But... as I got deeper and deeper into the book I found surprising insights and inspiration.
Now, I'm all in and ready to "Tidy" my overflowing garage and work spaces.

fascinating account of the long history of mismanagment of the Great Lakes natural resources. heartbreaking, but a lesson to all to educate ourselves in order to keep government and industry accountable and to prevent the greed of a few from distroying the heritage of our amazing natural world and denying future generations the joy of expiriencing this amazing planet.

Not just a kids book
Revisado: 06-10-19
I loved this book. I s0end as much time as I can in the Channel Islands of California. I never read this book in school and always wanted to read it as an adult for its historic references of the island of San Nicolas. The narration of this audio book really brought it to life and I was fully invested in the drama and emotions of the main character. Thank you for a beautiful performance of this simple, yet powerful book.
