Betty White narrating her own book is the best gift this book gives you, along with many others. It is like a warm snug hug from that favourite family member you don't often get to see but always hold dear, that person that makes you gain hope in humanity and its heart.

Unexpected plot twist

To be honest, I liked the book but a few chapters in I keept wondering if the author had lost their touch because it was not feeling as exciting as the other books. THEN the plot twist of the plottwist and I was glued to my headphones listening to every word. I finally recognised the talent of the author, as if they had written the book without suspense to then wake up and decide to do the opposite. Fantastic plot twist!

Very cosy

This is the cosy rom-com, with a coat of social and racial injustices and complexities of being raised by an anxious -somewhat troubled- parent, of which you'd want to enjoy with several cups of tea. As always, the author does not disappoint.

The peptalk of an Olympian

I was recomended this book by my career coach when I had told him I could not find a mentor at work who was a woman. Someone who had been there before me and could help coach & guide me. It made me sad, and he recomended this book. He said the author of this book is a very strong woman, just like you. And how he teared up in his car listening to it on his way to work.

So I listened, he haven't steered me wrong yet. And just like him, I needed a moment after this book (and during), to feel its impact and how I started to tear up..

This is an audiobook, and empowering speach, I will come back to when I will continue to try and find my wolfpack.

A cozy found family story with magic and giggles

***SPOILERS AHEAD*** I started and stopped reading this book a while back, I didn't make it past a few pages the first time around, but I see now that it was because I wasn't ready to or meant to finish it at that time. This book is so heartfelt and wonderful that this is the only possible explanation I can give to not reading it sooner. It is the tale of a young, beautiful yet hurt woman who heals through a found family of the most unexpected group of people bound together by their love for three sweet (and a bit murderous) children with magic. The main storyline is about her finding her place in this new family and mending her heart in the process. And a smaller storyline of a rom-com grumpy-sunshine trope. I appreciate a good grumpy-sunchine trope rom-com as much as the next person, but I do appreciate how it was more woven into the main story than dominating it.

This book has my little hurt heart thump with appreciation, joy, and hope. ❤️

This book has shot up to my top 5 best ever book

It is a whirlwind of a psychological thriller which you cannot rip yourself from, nor do you want to!
I am very, very, picky when it comes to thriller books, if I don't like it from the 2nd/3rd page (and thats me being generous) I will drop it like a hot skillet. And I finished this in a day. I was recomended this titel from booktok and I waited a few weeks to get a hold of it but when I started it then the only times I ripped myself from it was for and dinner and gasping "Wow". This book have shot up to my top 5 best ever book recommendations! I am now a super fan of Nicola Sanders and will read her other books promptly! I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS!!!!

An absolute fantastic read!

I truly believe that this is the best comprized book on queer and trans history that I have ever come across, and it doesn't leave anything out. Parts of it were honestly an eye-opener for me, for in Swedish schools we are taught a slightly different version of some of these historic events which leave out crucially information and pivot it to be heterosexual. So I truly had my mind blow in the best way from the beginning!

I could not put it down, and I am definitely ordering the hardcopy for my bookcase and to give as gifts! Tryely a lovely read with so much good and worthwhile and important information.

I recommend that every queer, and in particular allied, people should give this a read!

if you want a warm, heart-felt, better than rom-com, queer, love story then this is definitely for you! This book made my days so much more comfy and had me have thoughtful insights about my own relationships along the way.

And I'm delighted to find out that there's a sequel, so the story doesn't have to end here!
