Historia
John Ross is a heartbeat away from the American presidency. The darling of the Right, his meteoric rise to the top seems unstoppable...until FBI agents Stephanie Martin and Mark Elliott come across information connecting him to a shadowy group of right-wing extremists with links going back to the medieval Knights Templar and Richard I of England. As their investigation deepens, Stephanie and Mark reveal an association prepared to ally itself with organised crime, infiltrate secret services, and bolster right-wing religious and nationalist groups in its quest for power.

The Narrator. Note to self: Never buy anything with this Narrator.
What could Alan Gold have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Get a decent Narrator to tell your story!
How could the performance have been better?
Another Narrator perhaps?
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Final Candidate?
I couldn't make it through Chapter 2.

Historia
The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had run the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

I can't believe Mr Flynn wrote this-AWFUL!
Revisado: 02-21-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Maybe a new to Mitch listner, then they can save the best for last.
Has The Last Man turned you off from other books in this genre?
Absolutely not.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Arman Schultz?
I usually like Arman Schultz but this time he was hard to understand. I'd give him another shot only because I know he can do better.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Last Man?
I can't say. I was so dissappointed I quit listening to it after about 2 hours.
Any additional comments?
Better luck next time.

Their assassins then deliver a shocking ultimatum to the American government: set aside partisan politics and restore power to the people. No one, they warn, is out of their reach—not even the president. A joint FBI-CIA task force reveals the killers are elite military commandos, but no one knows exactly who they are or when they will strike next.

Fabulous, exciting, scary
Revisado: 06-24-12
Where does Term Limits rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's one of the number one books I have read. Including this one I now have three at number one now. And I read and listen to a great deal of books.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes it did! I kept pulling for the bad guys and was actually yelling at the bad guys while listening in my car. It's one of the few that have made me drive slower so I could find out what happened next. Listening to this one I was traveling in the right lane on the Interstates, unheard for me.
What does Nick Sullivan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He voiced all of the characters exactly like I pictured them. I know I listen to some books and the narrator doesn't put the right voice to the characters and I end up stopping a good plot because my picture of them is totally distorted. NOT ON THIS ONE!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Made me cheer! It also made me mad as heck....the government characters are exactly like I think our Senators and Congressman are destroying the current and future freedom and rights of the American people. This is truly a "Current Events" fiction.
Any additional comments?
Everyone should read this book! Including the current elected officials. Scare the pants off them for sure!

Another Dissappointment
Revisado: 04-20-08
I keep hoping Ms. Cornwell will get over her writers block or what ever she has been going through the last few years. Her earlier books such as BODY FARM were a fantastic read. Here latest are boring, pointless and rambling. I keep taking a chance that she's "come together again"...alas, again I am the fool. I shall not purchase another boring Cornwell

Historia
Virgil Flowers kicked around for a while before joining the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. First it was the army and the military police, then the police in St. Paul, and finally Lucas Davenport brought him into the BCA, promising him, "We'll only give you the hard stuff." He's been doing the hard stuff for three years now, but never anything like this.

Devilishly clever, Next blends fact and fiction into a breathless tale of a new world where nothing is what it seems, and a set of new possibilities can open at every turn. Next challenges our sense of reality and notions of morality. Balancing the comic and bizarre with the genuinely frightening and disturbing, Next shatters our assumptions and reveals shocking new choices where we least expect.

I expected more - the novel delivered much much less. I can't believe this is the same arthor of so many great novels. No plot, no substance although the subject is quite interesting. Michael, where were you on this one?! You let us down.
