A perfect show
Revisado: 04-11-25
I called all of my friends to let them know I love them after I finished this show. I wish I could keep living in this world for another 6 hours, and another 6 hours after that. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this absolutely soul filling heart soaring beautiful narrative that makes you strive to live just *that* much better and love just *that* much harder. 10/10. Historia
One of the world's most renowned theoretical physicists, Carlo Rovelli has entranced millions of readers with his singular perspective on the cosmos. In Helgoland, he examines the enduring enigma of quantum theory. The quantum world Rovelli describes is as beautiful as it is unnerving. Helgoland is a treeless island in the North Sea where the 23-year-old Werner Heisenberg made the crucial breakthrough for the creation of quantum mechanics, setting off a century of scientific revolution.

The stuff dreams are made on
Revisado: 01-05-24
Each book by Carlo continues to be more beautiful and captivating than the last. His writing consistently is able to reach inside my brain and scratch every itching question (pleasant imagery, I know). He combines my curiosity of physics with a deep poetic sense of what it is to be human/an observer. Onward I go to the next Carlo Rovelli book.

Historia
Let us journey, with beloved physicist Carlo Rovelli, into the heart of a black hole. We slip beyond its horizon and tumble down this crack in the universe. As we plunge, we see geometry fold. Time and space pull and stretch. And finally, at the black hole’s core, space and time dissolve, and a white hole is born. Rovelli has dedicated his career to uniting the time-warping ideas of general relativity and the perplexing uncertainties of quantum mechanics. In White Holes, he reveals the mind of a scientist at work.

This guy…
Revisado: 12-13-23
My third book by Carlo, all within the span of a month… he does not fail to astonish. I’m by no means a physicist, or an expert, but I am so fascinated by the stories of the field. No other author has managed to capture the sheer wonder of physics like Carlo. I’m totally blown away. I’m writing this while walking to my local bookstore now to buy another.

Historia
In the United States, teenagers can focus on one task for only sixty-five seconds at a time, and office workers average only three minutes. Like so many of us, Johann Hari was finding that constantly switching from device to device and tab to tab was a diminishing and depressing way to live. He tried all sorts of self-help solutions—even abandoning his phone for three months—but nothing seemed to work. So Hari went on an epic journey across the world to interview the leading experts on human attention—and he discovered that everything we think we know about this crisis is wrong.

Max Tegmark leads us on an astonishing journey through past, present and future, and through the physics, astronomy, and mathematics that are the foundation of his work, most particularly his hypothesis that our physical reality is a mathematical structure and his theory of the ultimate multiverse. In a dazzling combination of both popular and groundbreaking science, he not only helps us grasp his often mind-boggling theories, but he also shares with us some of the often surprising triumphs and disappointments that have shaped his life as a scientist.

Revisado: 02-28-22
This audio book is a brilliant, if not hard to follow at times, translation of complicated mathematics into compelling narratives, made only more riveting by the absolutely incredible narration of Rob Shapiro. And what an ending!!!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Revisado: 10-10-20
Though written in 2003, and though more advances have been made in the topics written about, this book is a timeless accomplishment in existential perspective. A good book stays with you for weeks, this will stay with me for years.
