Two or three books squeezed into one
Revisado: 11-27-24
This book was like someone else wrote other than our author. Little details from other books were outright rewritten or modified. Characters didn't act anything like they did before. Honestly like I said, this was two or three books crammed into one and none of them were done well. This was like the Harry Potter book where J.K Rowling didn't use an editor, I really hope this isn't the case because it was like a jumbled mesh.

Dark urges big sigh
Revisado: 11-04-24
This trope is getting really boring, so many Litrpgs do this and it always ends the same way. 3-5 books of garbage character development because it doesn't matter because plot armor saves our MC. For once I would rather some normal character development or have the MC go completely evil and destroy everything they cared about.
The story is enjoyable, and performance is also enjoyable though he's a bit excitable like a 1980s Evangelical Tv preacher. Still it's good, there is enough drama without the dark urges trope.

Really?
Revisado: 10-13-24
3rd quarter 2024 given me the most crappy book endings or backward character developments in just about all of series I'm following. Maybe it's all true and our simulation are all falling apart in this simulated universe.
Big sigh, ending your book like this is something you would expect from the end of a first book that wanted to drag the reader into next book. You're far too far into the series at this point slam a full stop ending like this, anyone who's made it this is going to get the next book. And honestly, with the foreshadowing we knew it was coming so there was no reason to end it like that.
Story, performance are great like always, the crap at the end just really turned me off due to the fact that soooooo many series over the past few months have been doing the same crap at the end of a books. Very tiring of late, just didn't expect it from this series.

Revisado: 03-03-24
The story's good and the performance is good. The only thing I could complain about is the 10 minutes of insight in the middle of key events, but it's needed to keep you in the know. It just kind of makes the pacing wonky for me at times. I can live with it though, good job keep it coming and I'll keep throwing money at you.

The story is an interesting take, but
Revisado: 10-06-23
Like I said the story is an interesting take on the genre and I enjoyed it. Maybe it is a little basic compared to some other works but it was fun. The performance range was good, the problem was jerky halting every time a comma pops up. I feel that it is a good enough story that I'll finish it's just far too easy to do something else due the pace of the performance.

The story is overwhelmingly great, but!
Revisado: 09-23-23
like I said I love the story, everything brings you in and hooks you. with that being said, the problems.
The first book hooks you and draws you in. The MC has a hate or distrust of all males if they're not a kid or an old man. I understand how things run out and how you're supposed to sympathize due to an assault in her life, but it's really over the top and it jerks me out of the flow of the landscape many times. When it's followed by the MC throbbing over every woman she runs into like so bard it compounds the problems of dragging me out of the rhythm of the grand show. Still the story drags me in.
Second book is much of the same with a captivating story in game that kept me going. The hating/ loving continues which broke up this epic for me.
The third book broke me many times having to stop to do something else. The MC is a canser for most of the book. I would grone almost everytime a chapter was MC focused. All of the other character chapters were good and enjoyable and furthered my enjoyment of this world. The MC was pretty much lashing out at anyone trying to help her or confide to her. I understand the trauma that we are feel for her but by the third book it's like she didn't grow at all and now its all better. By this point any of the other characters would have made for a better MC. Not a hunter and not person that would be worth helping as she has to traumatize other before she feels it's time accept their help.
The narration was good, yet the excess quivering all the time made me room me eyes many times. A little over the top at times..
I've enjoyed other books put out by the author, I'm just glad I got to this after those or I would have never touched them. Great world and a great story. Just sad the MC turned into cringeworthy trash by the third book.
Ps- don't care who loves who as long as it's done well, and doesnt drag me from the world that's being shown to me.

After a daring escape from the Yi, Hazel and her friends now must convince the people of the Daedalus villages and the village leaders that the Yi exist - and that they must fight back in order to survive. This proves tricky, as those in power don't want their authority challenged.

My brain hurts.
Revisado: 06-17-23
The story is good, it really is. It's just that as the story goes it builds narration of things to do and not do, and all the sudden the characters just off script. it threw me off so bad that I went to bed. I also don't understand why everyone seems to forget that her brother would be the "Son of the captain" and that means they could do so much more apart attacking the problem from two ends. Though it would very likely end with her dead because she is a ship without a crew. She needs them all to get anywhere near a good idea or a plan.
This narrator isn't bad, she lacks the range for how many characters start showing up in the story. Sadly she does a very good job of making the main character so whiny it gets on nerves that anyone would really act that way when they know what's at stake.

A slow but steady burn
Revisado: 11-28-22
Like the title said it was a slow burn. Not so slow that I found myself looking for something else to occupy my time. The characters felt real enough to add to the story, yet some might have been a bit over the top. I would say that even if you weren't following along closely you could tell rather quickly who was the killer was, so some of the tension felt forced. I don't regret my purchase. I will be getting the next book because I hate a incomplete story.

A great story on to The Great Work
Revisado: 01-27-21
I think the book was great, even with the depression that the Scythes story line went down. Though it was interesting at it's core as well, it detracted from the storyline. Everyone knows by this point that Primaries are the new hero's of the future and the old Marines are not. So when the story made a point to bludgeon the reader with it constantly with these facts it made feel forced. I felt like the old Scythes were used as a chorus of parrots to tell us old bad, new good. I think it is a good book, but a poorly implemented story line that detracts from the book. In all I think Belisarius Cawl is one of the more interesting characters I've seen in a while and I honestly wish we get to see far more of his schemes.
