Historia
As the true horrors of the Third Reich began to be exposed immediately after World War II, the Nazi war criminals who committed genocide went on the run. A few were soon caught, including the notorious SS leader Heinrich Himmler. Others, however, evaded capture through a sophisticated Nazi organization designed to hide them. Among them were Josef Mengele, the “Angel of Death” who performed hideous medical experiments at Auschwitz; Martin Bormann, Hitler’s brutal personal secretary; Klaus Barbie, the cruel "Butcher of Lyon"; and perhaps the most awful Nazi of all: Adolf Eichmann.

In a family rife with secrets - murder, hidden identities, perversions - and a depraved sense of honor, the player who wins the game may be the only one who will survive. Full of the late master's trademark elements - remarkable characters, dazzling plotting, and a page-turning narrative style - this sizzling sequel vividly captures the master's voice and irresistible magic.

Not a good story. Filled with hate and revenge.

I couldn’t finish it. Lots of bad language and evil people. It just made me feel very uncomfortable. There wasn’t a single character in the story that I liked. I only made it 7 chapters and decided to stop listening.

I just listened to this for the second time and enjoyed it as much as the first. Frank Peretti is a great story teller and weaves a story that will keep you engaged for hours and hours as you are swept into the world he created full of mystery and wonder.

Historia
Both astonishing and prophetic, The Abolition of Man remains one of C. S. Lewis's most controversial works. Lewis sets out to persuade his audience of the ongoing importance and relevance of universal objective values, such as courage and honor, and the foundational necessity of natural law. He also makes a cogent case that a retreat from these pillars of our educational system, even if in the name of "scientism", would be catastrophic. National Review lists it as number seven on their "100 Best Nonfiction Books of the 20th Century".

Very insightful book
Revisado: 05-17-23
As I listened to the book I realized that much of what CS Lewis was speaking of came after the experience of living through WWII and reflecting on the just how decrepit man had become under NAZI rule.

Another great book in the Stormlight Archives
Revisado: 07-18-21
Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author. He has an amazing ability to create new worlds and weaves together great stories and characters in these worlds. The Rhythm of War fills in a lot of the gaps and also dives into brokenness and healing. I find a lot of parallels with Christianity. We must all come to terms with our sins, confess and admit to them, before we can be healed and forgiven. Yes, there are a lot of parallels with Christianity and Catholic Sacraments indeed.
Great series.
