As the only female to survive the devastating virus, Ara hasn’t seen another human in months - not since her father disappeared. When they catch Ara stealing from them, they are furious - and confused. She is the first girl they have seen in three years. And while Kaden knows taking her captive is wrong, he tells himself he’s doing it to protect her.

Beautifully sad and hopeful all in one
Revisado: 02-10-23
I loved the split narration and gave a great perspective throughout the story. I really felt the pain of the two main characters. The writer did an excellent job at conveying the emotions that were going through these characters' heads. I cried and smiled throughout this book. What a great listen.

Wow, what a book..
Revisado: 09-28-22
All I can really say is wow.. I have a love/hate relationship with this book and the feelings it has left me with.
Great writing. The double perspective was great and the fear and emotions that the main character felt were palpable. The author really wanted you to feel what the main character was feeling.
And the ending. A+
Left me full and empty at the same time.
This is the second book I've listened to of Colleen Hoover and definitely will not be my last!

Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

Historia
Alex Green is a young girl in a world much like ours, except for its most seminal event: the Mass Dragoning of 1955, when hundreds of thousands of ordinary wives and mothers sprouted wings, scales, and talons; left a trail of fiery destruction in their path; and took to the skies. Was it their choice? What will become of those left behind? Why did Alex’s beloved aunt Marla transform but her mother did not? Alex doesn’t know. It’s taboo to speak of.

Revisado: 08-26-22
I was completely mesmerized and emerced so far into this book, just wow! Loved! Definitely not a book I would have considered completing but just when I thought to give up on it, it turned into something I didn't want to end. I loved the was it was written, the character development is A+ and the depiction of a child coming of age, was just so beautiful. I felt so much emotion for the main characters and just kept wanting the best for them! Just wow!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.
