I follow Mamadou on social media and KNEW I had to buy this audiobook, especially since he narrates it. I love his humor and extensive knowledge of animals at large. Highly recommend!!

Narration leaves a lot to be desired

I am a huge fan of Julie Garwood books, especially her historical romances. I read them when they were first released and reading them now is like visiting old friends. This was the first time I had tried one of them on audio and I'm pretty certain it will be the last due to the quality of the narration. All of the women characters, save for those you weren't supposed to like, all were given voices of little girls and the men characters voices all sounded like they were about to choke to death. It was so distracting that I could barely concentrate on one of my favorite books ever. I don't know whose idea it was to allow the reading to go like this, but it was a terrible one.

Wonderful Story

Just to get this out of the way, there is a new narrator due to Kristin Watson Heintz having health problems. Emily Durante brings a new voice to the familiar series, but that isn't a bad thing, just different. Sit back and enjoy the story and what a story it is! Julie Moffett hits another one out of the ballpark with her geek girl Lexi in the rainforest of Brazil. There's action, intrigue, romance, laughs, and tears. Read/listen to this...you won't be disappointed!

Love the Characters

I have read Jenna St. James' Sullivan Sisters books and really enjoyed them, so I was truly looking forward to this story. Normally I enjoy audio books a great deal, but this narrator left a lot to be desired which distracted from the story. I believe I would have loved this if I had read the book.

Julie Moffett has written another fabulous story!

This story has everything we have come to expect from a Lexi Carmichael mystery: Humor, intrigue, action, and the adorable awkwardness that is Lexi. I was pulled into the story, trying to figure out what was going to happen next; I laughed when our heroine found herself in yet another situation that got out of hand; and I cried as Lexi and Slash discovered painful truths from his past. I have loved each book in this series and this one is no exception.
