I was thoroughly absorbed by a gripping and politically erudite and eminently compelling narrative related with flair by the author

a self-indulgent account of, essentially, how the author tracked down Harvey Weinstein and his sexually exploitative career with young women. the book is filled with minute details of the investigative reporting which, in most cases, I uninteresting and the author, who narrates, insists on feeble attempts to replicate accents, e.g., French, Australian, when he quotes informants from other countries. As Woody Allen, his father and a pathetic actor, insists on inserting himself into many of his movies, Farrow would have been much better off if his ego had permitted a professional reader to read this book. The book itself is filled with so many uninteresting details that it is a bore...not even high level expose journalism. I regret having spent any money of this and got so bored with the book I gave up on it. Much of the key stuff has already appeared in his New Yorker articles.

Roth at his very best. a fictional, albeit prescient, story set within the context of a Jewish child growing up in a Jewish community in Newark, confronted by the growth of anti-semitism with the election of Charles Lindbergh as president, defeating FDR. The narrator captures of the voice of middle-class Jews, articulating in realistic fashion the narration in the novel. Any Jew who grew up during the pre and war years of the late 1930s and early 1940s, will find much to relate to in this novel. Non-Jews can appreciate it as well. A tour de force from one of America's great novelists, sadly no longer with us.

a suspenseful, well told, and well acted story. as the story unfolded it was credible and enjoyable. the ending, however, was totally non-credible and disappointing. a convoluted and illogical ending.
