A Captivating Beginning to a Promising Series

An excellent start to what promises to be a fantastic series! For the first time since Unsold by Will Wight, my fantasy craving has been fully satisfied. The protagonist is highly capable, skillfully utilizing every resource at his disposal without feeling overpowered. Yet, it's clear he's still evolving, and I’m excited to witness his full potential unfold. While Luke Daniels' narration may be an acquired taste for some, I find his voice and style perfectly suited to the story. I'm hooked, and I’m already diving into Books 2 and 3!

Best story ever for masochists

This is basically the entire story thus far: Complain complain, complain, curse, curse, complain, complain, curse, make stupid decision, curse, complain, die, curse, complain, die again, curse, complain, get crapped on by everyone, make another stupid decision, don’t learn anything after getting crapped on, complain, curse, die.  

Best story ever for masochists who like protagonists who suffer from ADD, ADHD & dyslexia. Don’t get me started on his relationship with his Dragon, wow…

Good but not for me

This is a story where every other character has some unexplained advantage over the main character and said main character is constantly playing catch-up. It's a well crafted story but the main character is too restrained by his own abilities and morality.

I am hungry for more. Sorry I couldn't help myself haha. But honestly, it's pretty good. For those who like Japanese/Korean light novels and anime, this does not disappoint. Sound effects in writing are common in these types of narratives.

What a waste of time

I was impressed by this series at first. The first two books were great. The third had the warning signs of another drawn-out series going nowhere for eight or so books. I bought this book, hoping I was wrong. Well, I was not. I got nothing against a long series, I love the Cradle Series. What Cradle does differently is it keeps moving the characters forward. You can tell when an author has the story plotted out and is making his or her way toward a specific direction. What I do not like is when authors write for the sake of filling pages. I was able to get my credit back. A whole lot of nothing happened for the first five hours. I have read twenty or thirty-plus books like these where for three books, it is nothing but fight this, go there, made this, etc. All the while, the reader is waiting for something impactful or life-changing to happen. NOPE! I honestly do not know what I was expecting. I had to stop at book three before I got dragged along into another fifteen-book series where nothing of substance happens and I start questioning my life's choices. Travis Baldree is amazing, nothing negative can be said about his performance.

Really good for what it is

First book reminded me of Mushoku Tensai. As a Japanese light novel fan, I am enjoying this series so far.
