Historia
It began in a women's club in London on a February afternoon. A discreet advertisement in The Times, addressed to "Those who Appreciate Wistaria and Sunshine..." lures four very different women away from the dismal British weather to San Salvatore, a castle high above a bay on the sunny Italian Riviera. There, the Mediterranean spirit stirs the souls of Mrs Arbuthnot, Mrs Wilkins, Lady Caroline Dester, and Mrs Fisher, and remarkable changes occur.

Pure Joy!
Revisado: 09-15-21
I always thought I would get around to reading this book. But I am so glad to have heard it instead. What a perfect, lovely story.
Already I miss all those wonderful people... because they feel like my friends. I'm going back to visit them in that garden and enjoy the love that blooms in my heart too!

Historia
This anthology of rare stories of crime and suspense brings together a selection of rare tales by masters of the Golden Age of Detective Fiction for the first time in book form, including a newly discovered Agatha Christie crime story that has not been seen since 1922. At a time when crime and thriller writing has once again overtaken the sales of general and literary fiction, Bodies from the Library unearths lost stories from the Golden Age, that period between the World Wars when detective fiction captured the public’s imagination.

Good Stories. Great Narration!

The last two stories were hard to play...but I was able to listen to them eventually. The narrator was truly wonderful. Enjoy with a cuppa!

Historia
Benedict Cumberbatch and Louise Brealey read a love story in letters, played out against the backdrop of the Second World War. 'Can you feel, as you read these words, that I am thinking of you now; aglow, alive, alert at the thought that you are in the same world, and by some strange chance loving me.' A small blue box opened in 2008 revealed a wartime world of love, longing and frustration. Inside were bundles and bundles of letters written neatly on thin blue airmail paper or headed army notepaper.

Oh for the love of Christopher & Bessie
Revisado: 12-17-18
Please love the 44 minutes as much as I did. It will remind you of why 'fish gotta a swim' and 'birds gotta fly.' And you will swoon to hear Benedict Cumberbatch fall in love and then some. Treat yourself!

Historia
When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough. As soon as I touch down, I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces, and all the black cabs. But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.

Trite Romance with British Accents
Revisado: 02-07-18
I rarely buy contemporary romances. I can suspend disbelief in a period piece...but not for stories based in this day and age. Just not my cuppa.
