Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Wonderful, just wonderful
Revisado: 02-13-19
I'll be frank, I watched the TV series before reading/listening to the books. After season two, I knew I had to start the books and here I am. Roy Dotrice does a wonderful job on narrating and he voices all the characters. If you like the TV show, you need to read the books!

My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me. So begins a tale told from his own point of view - a story unequaled in fantasy literature. Now in The Wise Man’s Fear, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicle, Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.

This book ended the way I thought it would. Everything was wrapped up nicely, no real curveball at the end, no cliff hanger. I wish you the author didn't get in depth at the end there, it makes me wish there was forth book

Picking up right where it left off
Revisado: 08-02-16
Book two of three, what can I say? I think this book frustrated me more than the first! The beginning is a little out there but it all comes together as the book progresses. If you read the first book, I know no matter what, you'll read the final two. Too much time invested. I do want to say, Peter is hands down the stupidest character I have ever read. How can someone be as stupid as he is?

“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born". An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape - but he can’t stop society’s collapse.

Historia
For the past 10 years, leading Canadian journalist and cultural critic John Doyle has been traveling the globe to observe World Cup and other soccer matches played at the highest level. The result is a Bill Bryson-esque narrative full of wit and insight, concluding with the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. In between his encounters with the delirious fans, the crazed taxi drivers, the leprechauns and the lederhosen, Doyle examines the evolution of soccer as a global phenomenon.
