Historia
As a young boy, Oliver York witnessed the murder of his wealthy parents in their London apartment. The killers kidnapped him and held him in an isolated Scottish ruin, but he escaped, thwarting their plans for ransom. Now, after 30 years on the run, one of the two men Oliver identified as his tormentors may have surfaced. Emma Sharpe and Colin Donovan are enjoying the final day of their Irish honeymoon when a break-in at the home of Emma's grandfather, private art detective Wendell Sharpe, points to Oliver.

Decent story; performance did not match the character
Revisado: 02-14-21
I truly enjoy this Carla Negger’s series but unfortunately Carol Monda’s or the director’s choice of voice characterization for Oliver was so unlike the character as described in all the books. It was higher pitched, often sounding shaky despite the fact that Oliver is a strong character who stays cool under the most difficult situations. This ruined the performance for me as Oliver was the central character.

One of Ms. Kinsella’s weakest stories
Revisado: 01-04-20
The storyline was tedious, not particularly funny, characters poorly developed and male voices by narrator were not good. Very disappointing, I’m afraid, particularly since I generally live Sophie Kinsella’s books.

Great listen!!
Revisado: 12-11-19
Loved everything... the story, the artist’s performance and delivery! Can’t wait to listen to more books read by Mr. Page or to read more of Ms. Charlon’s stories! A poor reader can destroy a good book... a bad story can sometimes be rescued by a talented reader. This book and Mr. Page made it so I raced to listen as often as I could!

Terrible naaration
Revisado: 12-07-19
The story might be fun to read but the narration was so terrible it was like nails on chalkboard. Whoever was directing that voice talent apparently does not understand the vital need for cadence and rhythm and changing pace.

Worst Audible book I have ever listened to.
Revisado: 07-10-19
The narrators were coached to speak in a bizarre cadence. The story was tedious and convoluted and ended with a ridiculous and utterly unnecessary cliffhanger. Most disappointing audible story in over ten years and I listen to at least 3-5 a month.

Not worth the listen
Revisado: 03-09-18
Unfortunately the performer’s voice does not interpret male voices well. It was impossible to see the main male character as a romantic lead thanks to the awful accent and vocal pitch she used for his voice. Her reading was also monotone. I just couldn’t plow through more than half the book before giving up and skipping to the last 5 minutes.
