I really enjoyed this title. The writing was sharp and quick. The story was great. I had a small issue with the one truly violent scene in the book which felt disproportionate with the rest of the story. I think the author could have seen her way through the plot with something less gruesome and still achieved her objective. Difficult Subject

While I felt this story started off strong, something fell away by mid book. I realize the subject matter regarding the tragic loss in the book is delicate to handle, I felt it was an attempt to save a sagging story and too much. The explanation around the first disappearance and six year gap didn't ring quite true to me. As I said, the story had me totally hooked at first and I was prepared to give it 5's across the board, but I was disappointed with how the story progressed and finally ended.
