This was a good read of an unexpected romance. A great reminder to not just go through the motions in our relationships.

There was no predictability here. Every time you think you have it figured out, there's a plot twist.

Great character development and not so predictable ending. Socially conscious while still entertaining. Written well enough that I found my eyes well up with tears for Brandi a few times. Great job sisters!

This can't be the end of the series. I need answers! I just knew this was going to have a happy ending and I got crushed at the end. Hoping for redemption in the next Installment.

I enjoyed hearing Winter's story continue. I liked how she was pushed and humbled and how she looked out for those helping to build her empire. I liked guessing how people were connected, who done it, and what the character's motives were. Never would I have guessed that ending though.

I didn't read the description of this book and thought it would be urban fiction about a big girl having her way in this world. It's not fiction and is quite academic but the delivery is everything. And, it turns out that, in some ways, it is about a big girl having her way in this world. Sesali gave it to us real and raw without being triggering. I could identify with so much of the content. I hope to catch her at a conference, book signing, or something. This was a win for black girls, fat girls, marginalized girls, and all who support us. I'm glad I added this to my library.
