Still fun, but not as good as others in the series.

The continuing story and character development is still good. I enjoy this series. this one though I thought the writing was not as good as most of the others. it seemed a bit cobbled together and a lot of repetitive phrasing was very noticeable. Also I believe there was one spot where a character who would not have been able to hear them, said something in response to something a cat said. Floofy's vocabulary seemed too adult as well, dealing with abstract concepts which should be too advanced for him at his age, even as a teenager. it made it a little less believable. it was also more predictable throughout than previous offerings.
Meghan Kelly does the dialogue and character voices well, and overall I enjoy her reading of the series. this time it seemed like there were some weird long pauses mid sentence and some mispronounced words. for example the stress put on the wrong syllable for words she may be less familiar with and wrong tone of voice for the emotions described.
Overall I still liked the book, story and characters most of all. I just feel like this was maybe rushed to publication and could have done with more editing and the things already mentioned. It was just somewhat disappointing when so much of the rest of the series was so good, that these things stood out.

the best of the series so far
Revisado: 08-17-22
What started as another school for magic kids, albeit college age "kids" has evolved into a really intense story with great characters that have grown and developed wonderfully. they are involved in a fight for humanity at large, in an increasingly complex web of good and evil, with many shades of not quite good, but not really bad, and villains whose agendas are not out in the open, leaving the reader/listener to wonder who to trust. The Narration is also very good. the exposition is sometimes a little wooden and dry, but I think the narrator is trying not to sound like any character POV. The dialog more than makes up for this, as you can pretty much always tell who has started speaking by the voice/tone/manner used, before they are identified by the text descriptors. Overall a very solid performance.

Loved the performance.

Interesting story elements. Some are familiar, some new. It is sometimes predictable, but there are some interesting twists ad it is original enough to stand on its own. The audible reading was great. The narrator really gave individual voices and personalities to all the characters and brought them to life. Accents for foreign characters were better than I have heard in many readings and added to the characters personalities. Overall a fun, light story that makes me want to get the next one.
