A dry rom-com with a touch of introspection
Revisado: 12-10-23
I loved this book. It was the first time I have read anything by this author. There were some laugh out loud moments. And, some deep introspective evaluation of personal motivations. I felt like the narration was a touch slow, but all in all a great book.

Historia
Lucinda Hamilton settles down in sleepy Reverie, South Carolina, because she's running from the troubles of her past. But when her dangerous ex-husband evades law enforcement, she fears that no amount of running will ever make her safe again. Two women are determined to keep Lucinda's past at bay - the mysterious young nurse living on the other side of Lucinda's duplex, who won't even tell Lucinda her name, and Ardie Brown, an ex-marine who's recently moved back to Reverie herself. It's hard for Lucinda to trust either one; it's even harder to admit that she's falling for both of them.

Fantastic reflections worth every moment
Revisado: 04-24-21
What a wonderful work and performance. Highly recommend. It is a melancholy tale of haunted pasts meeting in the same small town. A WLW story with all the baggage of life’s experiences two people can bring together. The complications of previously established relationships and the work involved in growing and moving on.
Another Eliza Andrews work that exceeded all expectations. I have a hard time reading small town stories. They bring too much painful similarities to my own life sometimes if there isn’t a great deal of humor involved. This book is remarkably poignant and captures my experiences living in the southeast with a haunting bonus.
I highly recommend.

Historia
As New Orleans recovers from Hurricane Katrina, Detective Sept Savoie recovers from a gunshot wound with the help of her new love Keegan Blanchard. As the city returns to normal, so does the crime rate. Sept’s first case back on the job is a strangely ritualistic killing, which quickly escalates into serial murder. As the bodies start to pile up, the last thing Sept needs is the city’s newest celebrity crime writer, Nicole Voles, poking into the case looking for information for a new bestseller, especially when Nicole appears just as interested in Keegan as she is in murder.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 06-17-20
I have developed a true fondness for Caren J Werlinger’s work. She is a masterful story teller. Gabra Zackman’s delivery added to the sense of humility, grace, and abiding dry wit. I can not recommend this work enough. It’s not a simple romance but a complex study in personal growth. I often struggle with topics of faith but this was delivered with grace and humor.

I loved this book. Cassandra York did a great job of narrating. I wish more of Gerri Hill’s works were available in audio. I do love her stories. Character development is great. I enjoyed the love story interwoven into the mystery or the mystery interwoven into the love story... It’s nice having a story with main characters over the age of 35. Definitely recommend!!!
