Now, most want to follow him to his lands, and he realizes it's not big enough to accommodate. While trying to figure out solutions for that problem and others, Sigmus advises him to focus on locating other elementals to bond with. Funniest thing I've ever listened to
Revisado: 10-15-22
I mean, let's be real here if you've gotten to this book, your standards are already low. You've experienced unadulterated cringe and wish fulfilment on a level rarely witnessed and decided to go for more. Well, buckle up because in book 2 Max goes Super Saiyan and this time he isn't just perfect, he is the greatest at everything ever. He is a genius with unparalleled intelligence. How do I know that? Well, I was told so repeatedly! Have I seen any evidence he is intelligent? Nope! He has solved literally every problem in the story with violence or threat of violence. His charm is to such a degree as to be mind control. Why does everyone like him? Well, because he is unique in that he doesn't care about anything but laying pipe, posturing, and murdering swathes of people. Everyone wants to only exist for Max's sake!(a character toward the end declares as much). Whatever Max does will be correct even if logically it makes 0 sense. His wives are essentially Pokemon. He's got at least one of everything so far, multiple in some cases. I know next to nothing about them other than a very hilarious plot line about one of them being raped on the daily for years, which you'd think wouldn't be funny, but fear not because Max cured her of the trauma with a single good shagging! Most of every book and this one especially is people relaying what we already witnessed in an even more ball gargling way. e.g. we follow a first person telling of a fight, someone talks about the fight and how amazing Max is. repeat. His women will gush over his exploits and be violently aroused by such feats as turning into a monster and ripping a man into pieces as they scream. Max is constantly challenged by random fodder who he brutally murders to the loving adoration of whoever is watching. This entire series is absurd and makes me concerned for the author's grasp of reality.
tl;dr I highly recommend this. The last bit of this book is without a doubt some of the funniest crap I've ever heard. Graphic details, all holes in play, "white gold", like 8 people at once, with dialogue that would make the prequels blush all delivered with professionalism and enthusiasm. I've been laughing since book one and it keeps getting funnier. I didn't know I could gag from listening to an audiobook! Thanks!

Such a fun ride
Revisado: 09-26-22
I am excited for the next book. This series quality was so unexpected and it has quickly become one of my favorite series. Neil's performance was excellent as always. I was so engaged. My one criticism was the void scene. I think it's something that looks good on paper when you can glance over a page and see, but voiced it was excruciating. It feels like the next book will be shifting phases from the characters being led by events to leading events which will be interesting. I am sure there are many criticisms someone could have, I found nothing glaring that took me out of the story or excessively bored me. If anyone is interested, you can continue the series in a written form. This is not a traditional book. It's a chapter by chapter release. That said, I will be waiting for the next audiobook. I think Neil's performance brings a lot to the story.

Historia
Now the site of EBO’s first completed Red Cathedral, the Onyx Delta has become the center of the virtual world, and the entire player base is descending on Ned’s city to try their hand at the fearsome new raid and reap the game-changing rewards within. At the same time, a powerful, menacing guild is running roughshod over the western continents, razing every city in their wake and winning Frank’s obnoxiously loud approval from afar. But Ned knows that it’s only a matter of time before their forces sail east to the delta and attempt to burn down everything he’s built.

A fun adventure.
Revisado: 09-10-22
I don't feel like this advanced the plot much. No new revelation or anything. It is 100% gameplay. Very little character growth. That said, it is more of the same so if you are fine with just more fun adventures, I don't think you will have a problem.

Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

awesome book. can't wait for book 2
Revisado: 09-03-22
This book reminds me a lot of Enders Game, but with its own unique slant. I very much enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. One of the most promising starts to a series in a while. I'm a little worried about how they will handle finally leaving the academy, but what's here is solid. I'd say I think the naming choice and aesthetic was an awful idea. lol It looks like a book based on an existing franchise like Warframe. I was turned off instantly. I'd highly recommend changing the cover art and moving away from this style for book 2.

Frustrating
Revisado: 07-13-22
Main character does everything. Solves every problem. Saves everyones lives and the world over and over. The other characters are there to be saved by the main character. They contribute nothing and are always a liability. worse, they take his accomplishments and items as their own. everyone receives things from the main characters accomplishments but they all treat him like shit, rarely say thank you, and are ungrateful for everything he does. I am 3 books in and there is not a single person who consistently treats him well
Everyone just wines and expects his help
If he isnt snappy everyone talks bad about him or he gete nearly beaten to death he gets yelled at for not being good enough. If you love a character that is quintessential back seat gamer, you will love this because that is what every character is. Their accomplishments are 1/1000th of the mc in 20x the time. The worst part is the main character has 0 self respect. He loves being treated like garbage. Where I currently am he is going to resurrect someone by sacrificing his own future power for someone who has betrayed him and used him. An objectively awful character that has threatened to kill him and gotten people killed and room his items while literally being saved by this kid 7 times. Its bizarre. Anyone else would have abandoned these moochers. The excuse is constantly that he is young which is contrary to who we are dealing with. mc is a ruthless killer while being easily manipulated and used over and over. He is betrayed over and over and even if the people around him change, they arent worth changing. lol if none of these people existed he would objectively be better off. if they all died in chapter 1 he would be better off. I hate everyone in this story. its infuriating. Dont pick this up. Hey, update. Now he trusted someome and that persons incompetence has left them completely at the enemies mercy. What a banger. 3 books in. The author is incompetent.

This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought. Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

Standard.
Revisado: 01-12-22
Nothing exciting really happens. If you like the harem genre, its that but pretty boring. The power scaling in this has 0 gravity for the levels given. Main character is weak and strong randomly. Author tries to give the girls personality and depth, but i cant tell you the difference in their looks, why they like the mc, or why theyre in the story aside from sex scenes. I finished it and would sit through the next one, but I wouldnt recommend it. id categorize it under, eh listened to everything else. night as well.
My advice to the author is simple. Show. Don't tell. Your mc's backstory is more interesting than the book i am listening to.

Extremely boring
Revisado: 09-13-21
Where do I start? The first book had its problems, but it was tolerable. This one is boring the entire way through. The mc is incompetent and objectively stupid. He makes stuff explode constantly while crafting but it never occurs to him to harness it. He makes 0 use of the fact he has knowledge of advanced concepts and technology. He focuses on plumbing and making toilets. He gets unique bonuses for making original spells and the dude doesnt exploit it. Its all so obvious that the only way the mc can be overlooking it is that he is genuinely an idiot. Then the story itself is hilariously generic. Its one massive trope. The only conflict is with a character that loses their mind randomly and becomes totally irrational. Then the conclusion of this entire series is spoiled in the prologue. Good god.

Revisado: 07-28-21
i don't like most of what i have read by Blaise Corvin, but this series has been an absolute banger. Exciting, fun, interesting. Even the ending was hype. Book 1 was super good. Book 2 was good too. Anyway. pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend it if youre just looking for a good time.
