It totally held my interest. The voices were marvelous and the ending wonderful! It brought to life the courage of those who did what they could. Very realistic.

The 'voices' were different. It wasn't long before I was totally caught up in this unusual story. It was hard to turn it off, though life intervened and I was forced to do that. It's an amazing and interesting story of people who are trapped in the relationships they were raised to believe that they should be. I remember my own mother telling me that you got married for life and you stuck out. I fought against that most of my life, at first avoiding all relationships, then marrying for the wrong reasons to the wrong man. The war woke up a lot of people, while others festered in their marriages to harsh people because that was how they were taught to believe marriage should be. I really loved this book!

Bad voice
Revisado: 08-21-18
I couldn't get into it because of the way its read. I may try again as an ebook. These voices didn't seem to MAKE me want to read it. It just starts out too tame and dull

Excellent tale of war from a different angle. It also showed the war between women and the Catholic church. Educational as well as entertaining.

Excellent as always
Revisado: 08-15-18
I always know when I pick up one of these that I'm going to love it. It was true this time, as well. I was fooled a few times at the twists the plot took. The voice of the audio always seems to be real, as if the characters are right there reading it to me. Excellent writer and excellent narration.

When Hazel is given the chance to parachute into Nazi-occupied France, she seizes the opportunity to do more for the British war effort than file paperwork. Alongside her childhood friend, French-born Rose, she quickly rises up the ranks of the freedom fighters. For Rose, the Resistance is a link to her late husband, and a way to move forward without him. What starts out as helping downed airmen becomes a bigger cause when they meet Sophia, a German escapee and fierce critic of Hitler who is wanted by the Gestapo.

Excellent tale!
Revisado: 08-13-18
I loved it all. It was so real and historically correct without being 'Hollywood-ised' I do wish at the end when she discovered that her fiance had married someone else and told her that she had no idea of what he'd seen and did that she had then laughed in his face and been able to tell him what she had done. I doubt he would have believed her. I was so hopping that she wouldn't marry him when she returned. She would never have been happy.
