I loved the narrator's way of telling this story adding the recorded voices of those she interviewed.

Historia
Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. There’s a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can’t seem to agree on anything.

Fabulous story telling a difficult topic
Revisado: 01-11-23
First, the narrator is extremely talented and a pleasure to listen to.
The story itself was, for me, just a bit difficult to understand and follow. The ending chapters tied it all together beautifully.
And the topic of hopelessness and suicide was approached with sincere kindness and compassion.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

At the age of 22, Jennifer Worth left her comfortable home to move into a convent and become a midwife in postwar London’s East End slums. The colorful characters she met while delivering babies all over London - from the plucky, warm-hearted nuns with whom she lived to the woman with 24 children who couldn't speak English to the prostitutes and dockers of the city’s seedier side - illuminate a fascinating time in history.

An OK book. Long and drawn out. first several chapters important to get the jist of the story. after that...easy to miss a bit when I fell asleep....then pick up at a later chapter. Loved the character of Bob and the writer's knowledge and inferences of Star Trek.

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

last 3 minutes were the best
Revisado: 07-09-20
Even though short, was not easy to get through. Narrator was quite monotone. Story was more about writer's self/gayness...intermingled with the grandmother in her life who obviously influenced her to write. This book is for some. It wasn't for me. I did like the recorded parts of grandmother. Nice respectful touch to the story.
