Historia
Even with his immense new power, James comes to realize that he is still playing into the hands of the System. If they are to free Earth and redeem the billions of dead, James and his crew will have to do more than journey into the pits of hell or slaughter countless armies of demons—they'll have to find the god-like forces orchestrating the apocalypse, break every rule, and utterly defeat them.

Serious plot holes but loved it anyway
Revisado: 11-17-23
Great story but some of their dumb decisions make me scream with anger. Dumping a lot of resources when you could have just used one, not bringing others along to help lv in certain parts. Lots of potential problems with the ending. Even with all that, I still enjoy the world and wild antics of James Kelly and James Jelly.

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Wonderful

I’m so OVER all of these other negative reviews. If you loved the first book, you’re going to LOVE this book. It progresses the story wonderfully, the narrator straight up UPGRADED chancery Cash’s voice from the nasal version in the first book, and it’s got the twists and turns we all want.

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

I really want the 2nd book on audible!
Revisado: 10-08-15
I really liked this book overall. It was a tiny bit predictable once you figured out the tone of the author and how he approaches the "good vs evil" battle, but I never once was bored or underwhelmed. The characters were great and I loved how they interacted. I especially loved being in Wolfs mind, but wouldn't have protested if I could have lived in celesta'a head for a couple of chapters. Can't wait for the audible gods to add the next book!

Historia
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

My new favorite author!
Revisado: 07-07-14
If you could sum up Steel World in three words, what would they be?
New take on Military sic-fi, surprisingly human, addicting
What was one of the most memorable moments of Steel World?
I loved any of the fight scenes with the dinos. They were amazing!
Which scene was your favorite?
The "accountants" of the galaxy had me rolling with their witty remarks and snarky behavior. I hated how they wanted to kill humanity, but you gotta love 'em.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out loud to many of the scenes in this book. Veteran Harris was usually the culprit.
Any additional comments?
If you love military sic-fi, you will definitely love this.

Historia
The Galactics arrived with their Battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined a vast Empire that spans the Milky Way. Our only worthwhile trade goods are our infamous mercenary legions, elite troops we sell to the highest alien bidder. In 2122 a lost colony expedition contacts Earth, surprising our government. Colonization is against Galactic Law, and Legion Varus is dispatched to the system to handle the situation. Earth gave them sealed orders, but Earth is 35 lightyears away.

Lovable and Easy Read
Revisado: 07-07-14
If you could sum up Dust World in three words, what would they be?
Witty, Contemporary, My kind of Military SciFi
Who was your favorite character and why?
McGill is easily my favorite character. He is no Mary Sue. He makes mistakes, is a bone headed, hot blooded 22 year old. What makes him stand out is his sense of justice and morals.
What about Mark Boyett’s performance did you like?
Mark Boyett has become my favorite narrater to date. He showcases a spot on Georgia accent and was able to flesh out my favorite female characters as well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I pretty much listened to this within 48 hours of purchase.
Any additional comments?
I really hope the author continues this series!
