A truly inspiring memoir about facing and overcoming adversity and challenges most of us would never consider undertaking. The authors reflects her warmth and compassion for those of us with human foibles, while giving keen insight from the prospective of a dog "owner" (we all know who "owns" who!). A brilliant, "mostly true" story that spans the world, and is timeless in every respect, as you constantly take a step back in wonder about how things continue to change, but stay the same. An amazing storey by a gifted author!!

Disappointing beating words.

Scott Brick did an excellent job with a very unrealistic story. Having surpassed 1,000 listens to books on tape, wish I hadn't wasted the time on this one. Protagonist does HAHO, breaks ankle on landing, gets shot in shoulder, then concussion, walks a few miles in that condition, breaks wrist, then gets captured and hog tied, but manages to do a Hannibal Lecter to armed jihadi, ripping throat out with teeth? Seriously? Bad fairy tale. Sorry.

Tom wouldn't be happy with this one - very disappointing storyline.

As usual, excellent narrative. Story line abysmal, whenever it seems to have gotten as bad as could be, it gets worse. Too many unbelievable aspects. Sequel will likely have Jack Ryan inside Boomer at bottom of Marianas Trench, swim out torpedo tube with Kabar in mouth, win fight with Megladon, holding breath and trying to swim to surface for air, get grabbed by Krakken, fight Krakken, only to learn it's a girl squid, and they hit it off, then buddy breath to surface. Actually, that it about on par with this fairy story. Sorry, love Clancy books, but this one sux.
