Profiler Sarah Armstrong knows what it's like to be in a sticky situation. As a single mother and one of the few female Rangers in Texas history, she has had to work twice as hard to rank among the best cops in the Lone Star State. While others focus the investigation on Lucas's estranged wife, Sarah disagrees.

great murder/mystery w/a little something personal
Revisado: 04-16-19
I really enjoyed listening to this book and following along with the mystery! the author did a great job of bringing in the characters personal life and intertwining it with the murder mystery. I also enjoyed the fact that a lot of the situations and actions in the book could absolutely happen in real life. I definitely recommend this book.

Historia
As much as Beatrice Hyde-Clare relished the challenge of figuring out who murdered a fellow guest during a house party in the Lake District, she certainly does not consider herself an amateur investigator. So when a London dandy falls dead at her feet in the entryway of a London Daily Gazette, she feels no compulsion to investigate. It was a newspaper office, after all, and reporters are already on the case as are the authorities.

mystery at it's best
Revisado: 04-05-19
I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator did a good job of describing the characters and their thoughts. The storyline was great and it kept me on the edge of my seat guessing what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between the main characters and how they reacted to each other.

Great quick audio book
Revisado: 02-18-19
I really enjoyed the narrator of this story it was easy to tell the difference in the characters a she read. I thought the book had a few too many he said and then she said lines but overall it was a really great book. I wish it would have taken longer to solve the mysteries it seemed that it was solved very quickly but the details of the characters were really well done.

Lots of interesting facts
Revisado: 02-14-19
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This audio book did a good job of covering a lot of the well known facts about the case. I felt that a lot of the information that doesn't fit the Wayne Williams theory was left out of this book.
If you are just getting into learning about the Atlanta child murders and Wayne Williams this is a great book to learn about all the different events that took place.

A bit confusing
Revisado: 01-20-19
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review
I like the premise of the story but the execution of it was a bit confusing. It jumped around a lot and I felt that many of the chapters could have been split up.
I think I would have liked the book more if it were in print because it would have allowed me to track the changes better. One minute one charter is talking and then it jumps to a completely different one with no warning.
There were a few surprises in the story that kept it interesting and I definitely had to know what happened in the end which kept me listening.

Historia
Indra is an Outlier. Living on land that has not healed from the poison of the past, the Outliers have adapted - but to the Sovereign and the Fortis, they are nothing. For centuries the Fortis have made their abuse of Outliers a sport, but when Asa comes to Indra's rescue, she sees something different in him. Something that marks him as so much more than just a Fortis guard. But when Indra's world begins to unravel, even the quiet alliance she and Asa have formed cannot save her from the wrath of the Sovereign.

Good Story
Revisado: 12-27-18
Indra's story was full of tragedies and triumphs. I found myself very engrossed in her back story and how/why she made the decisions she did.
************
SPOILER ALRET
*************
I was disappointed that Indra gave into her desire to take the Fortis lives. I was a little confused by Later Sanders age? (10? but he took advantage of her 3 years ago at 7?)
Overall I really enjoyed the story and will read the rest of the series because I have to know what happens next... does she go back to the city? Does she leave the life she's always known? what about Asa? Who is her birth family? I have to know!
