Remarkably similar to Cinder and Ella story

I got deja vu while I listened to this. The story is similar to Cinder and Ella by Kelly Oram only with weaker characters and editing issues. I found the hero to be weak, childish and no where near what a Prince Charming should be. The step mom didn’t even reap her just rewards. It’s a cute story but has lots of holes that should not be there based on the length of this book. Giving it 3 stars because I didn’t really hate it just thought it could have been better.

This really should have a paranormal tag. It’s well written though not really original. The narrators were exquisite and definitely kept me listening.

Childish and ridiculous

I ended up giving up on this one. I've listened to some good high school bully romance and some not so good ones but this is by far one of the worse books I've ever tried to listen to. First of all, the author focuses so much on the bullying, it came off as dumb and childish. I mean, who gets all alpha possessive about someone then trips them when they say no? The 'hero' came off as a toddler wearing grown up clothes. The writer tried to make him seem all powerful but he was just childish, a bit who couldn't tell his dad what he wants and who couldn't get his ex to leave him alone, all he did was whine all the time. My biggest pet peeve with this book though (spoiler alert) is the fact that all the characters lacked basic human decency. Even the 'heroine' saw her friend being harassed and didn't step in. Everyone at the party saw this girl being dragged away while she was saying no and trying to pull away from someone manhandling her and not one person stepped in to help? That's unrealistic. Even her brother heard the bet and witnesses people picking on his twin and did nothing about it, that's upsetting and again unrealistic as they were not rivals. Overall, save yourself the credit. Read Deviant King if you are looking for a good HS bully romance novel.

Awful female narrator

Female narrator sounds like she is whipering. OK story but hard to listen to. Male narrator is good.

Total waste of credit

I took a chance on this and fought to finish it. The characters are unrealistic, childish and completely unrelatable. A nurse who kept saying she is a nurse while her actions were so naieve it was cringe worthy. The storyline itself was childish and unrealistic which was further highlighted by a narrator who sounds like she is reading a bedtime story for kids. Total waste of credit.

Too many holes

Full discloser, I didn't finish this book, there were just too many holes. SPOILER ALERT - The heroine is attached and hit in the face, she hits her side on a dumpster, and the villian bruised and scratced her neck, YET her chief of police dad did not see any bruises on her face or her person, in fact, aside from a brief mention of the scratches on her neck, the injuries were completly ignored, not even a passing mention of hiding it all with makeup. Next, she hugs the hero and gets blood on her clothes, YET when she got home, her paramedic best friend didn't notice the blood??? Then the writer makes a point of mentioning that she dropped her purse when she had a flashback, yet there was no mention of her ever picking up the purse.

There were just too many holes and it got so annoying I stopped listening. It's like the writer included all that detail to make the scenes believable, and they were, but then she completely forgets she added those details and moved on to the next scene without taking any of it into consideration.

All in all, not worth the credit.

Horrible Hero

This started ok but then the author made the hero such an a*hole it was hard to finish. I gave up with just under two hours to go. By the time he comes around and starts acting like a decent person, my dislike of him is so thorough it kind of sucks if he gets a HEA, he doesn't deserve it as far as I am concerned.

Surprisingly good

The male narrator only read 2 or 3 chapters and the female narrator's voice was a bit too high pitched for some characters. Aside from that, this was a pretty good find. Loved every minute of it. It did end a bit abruptly but the story was excellent!

Good narration okay story

While I liked the story as a whole, I struggled with the constant repetition about how good a father he is, the good job he is doing and how he wants to do it on his own. We got it the first 10 times, the gazillion times after that was just annoying fluff. The characters were okay a d I really enjoyed the Male narrator, the female narrator not so much.

Ridiculous

I got this based on the reviews and quit half way in. The author took a strong female character and turned her into a nitwit. Very disappointing.
