I’ve tried to read the 7 habits of highly effective people about 3 times. It was way too dry, long and lecturing for me. This book summary got me through it and I actually managed to learn some lessons. Great narrator and summary

Perhaps this is my fault, but I thought this book would be about Navy Seals are trained and how to apply this to business. I read another book about that a while back full of tips on how to build confidence etc.

I didn't make it past chapter 1 really because it's all about combat and missions. The authors started the book saying that they weren't going to tell war stories, but the whole first chapter was about how they faced down enemy combatants in Iraq, and they were trying to kill them (at least 2-3 war stories). Sorry, I don't want to hear about death during my lunch hour.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate their service, but this wasn't the book I thought I was downloading. I thought I was downloading a leadership boot camp type book a la Tim Ferris, full of leadership hacks. This book is not that. If you're into military action and war stories, then this may be for you.

I loved the author and the narrator- felt like she was speaking to me. She summed up a lot of the self help world into one Book and what can I say? It’s awesome. I will say that I avoided listening to this book for years after downloading it, regrettably. Get over the first chapter and get used to her style and you’ll be hooked.

Works like a charm. I fall into a deep sleep nearly every time. Better than white noise.

Re: The previous reviews that indicated they woke up when the book finishes and hear the "thank you for listening to Audible"

They have fixed that. The book just ends. If I still can't sleep I just replay it again, breathe deeply, clear my mind and start again,

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in building PR for themselves, their company or their product. This book falls somewhere in between a detailed how-to-guide and a collections of tips, sites and wisdom about doing PR well.

Although it started out as one of those

What did you like best about this story?

The collection of the Top 10 - 20 tips within several of the chapters, including top tips when pitching on the phone, conducting interviews, emailing journalists etc. This book (and its PDF included) will actually prove to be a great resource in each step of the process.

Have you listened to any of Richard Laermer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope - he's actually a good speaker and reader. He also updates his content as he talks.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No - I wouldn't listen to this in one sitting. Each chapter is worth thinking about and taking notes from.

Any additional comments?

This is actually better to listen to then read. I have the book, as well, but I feel like the content was a bit meatier and real in the audiobook.
