Historia
After being betrayed by the very kingdom he saved, Jacob Stone forsook his title of Hero. Now he lives the simple life of a barkeep. Yet even that life is irrevocably erased when a young woman named Enyo appears before him. She claims to be the daughter of the former Dark Lord and has come seeking his aid. He’d normally never consider lending her a hand, but when she tells him that she knows of a way for him to return home, he’s left with little recourse.

Cliche, immature, predictable, cheap dialogue
Revisado: 02-05-25
Extremely predictable, very immature, cliche to the max. There are much better fantasy titles out there- The Dresden Files, The Licanius Trilogy, The Legend Of Drizzt, Eragon, Mistborn, Throne Of Glass, Kingkiller Chronicles, Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, etc. Don’t waste your money on this one.

Historia
Explore the captivating life of William Wallace! You might recognize him from Mel Gibson's film Braveheart. Sir William Wallace (c. 1270–1305) was - and is - a Scottish national icon of the highest order. Born as the landless younger son of a minor nobleman (Sir Malcolm Wallace), his startling rise to become a military and historical legend, an exemplary patriot, and a national hero is an embodiment of the underdog narrative that many people identify with in film and real life.

Everything The Title Says It Is
Revisado: 11-25-20
I love the movie Brave Heart and have always wanted to learn more about the man that inspired it. I figured this relatively short audiobook would be a good place to start. I am not disappointed. I loved every minute of it, except the intro, which I found to not only be a spoiler, but kind of unnecessary for a short audiobook, as well as the fact that it is more of a summary fitting for the conclusion. If you're the least bit curious, just pick it up. For the price, you can't go wrong. Just do it. You'll be glad you did.

Historia
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

DON'T DO IT!
Revisado: 05-21-20
Garbage. Don't waste your time. Full of words and yet no meaning to be had. At one point, after becoming so bored and having completely lost interest, I changed the narration speed to 2x speed just to get through it. Even that was a waste of my time. After finishing the audibook, I wish I had spent my time doing something more valuable or at least enjoyable.

Brings the book to life
Revisado: 03-10-20
I read this book 10 years ago and have since read every book in the series. I thought I'd give the audibook a try to relive old memories. I must say that I wasn't impressed at first, but I stuck with it and I'm so glad I did. I got hooked and couldn't stop listening to this amazing story. This really brought the origin story back to life for me and refired an old passion for the story and life of Drizzt. Because of this book I plan on listening to every subsequent audiobook in the series. I recommend this title to any fan of the books and anyone who loves fantasy.

Great story & excellent voice actor
Revisado: 02-26-20
Like all the previous books in the series, this book does not disappoint. I feel that the author has included more Christianity based symbolism in this title than previous ones, but has done so in a creative & interesting fashion. It could be that the symbolism in earlier books didn't stand out as much to me, though I know it's in there, but I really appreciated it more in this book.

A fantastic story & exceptional narration!
Revisado: 06-01-19
A Fantastic Tale! Not very long, but not too short either. I look forward to listening to the entire series to see how it all plays out. If it felt too short for you, don't fret, there are plenty more books in the series to listen to! Plus, you gotta love Michael York. I always liked his voice, but I never knew he could voice act so well. He does a great job using accents to create a unique personality for every character which really helps you distinguish between characters & helps to drive the story in a fun & interesting way. Truly a great story made better by Mr. York.
