Historia
Prosody is concerned with properties that provide fluidity to speech: i.e., rhythm and melody. Rhythm means a regular pattern in the flow of things, such as the tick, tick, tick of a clock or the lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub of a beating heart. Melody means the ups and downs of voice. All spoken languages have rhythm and melody, but they differ in the way they occur and perform in speech. Speaking English fluently implies the ability to produce the rhythm and melody proper to English, the learning of which is the goal of this audiobook.

very interesting
Revisado: 01-03-22
As a native speaker of American English, I found this book very interesting. Much of the content was intuitive to me, however I could imagine this work being very useful to a non-native speaker, who was seeking to speak English in a fluent style. I have a weird background, having studied the International Phonetic Alphabet, and scansion for textual analysis in my undergraduate degree, in the Performing Arts. while some of the granular details might be a bit dry, this book is worth a read 4 anyone interested in improving their English, or appreciating the spoken language more fully.

Historia
Some say that this work, found in a safe-box in the port area of Kowloon, was dictated because Bronze Age Pervert refuses to learn what he calls "the low and plebeian art of writing". It isn't known how this work was transcribed. The contents are pure dynamite. He explains that you live in ant farm. That you are observed by the lords of lies, ritually probed. Ancient man had something you have lost: confidence in his instincts and strength, knowledge in his blood. BAP shows how the Bronze Age mind-set can set you free from this iron prison and help you embark on the path of power.

huh...

This was one of the wildest things I've read in a long time. I don't know if I agree with much of what is written, but I definitely enjoyed it! Someone described it as a fever dream, that sounds appropriate.

Historia
This volume celebrates six such languages - Ancient Greek, Latin, Old English, Sanskrit, Old Irish, and Biblical Hebrew - by first introducing listeners to their most distinctive features, then showing how these linguistic traits play out in short excerpts from actual ancient texts. It explores, for instance, how Homer's Greek shows signs of oral composition, how Horace achieves striking poetic effects through interlaced word order in his Latin, and how the poet of Beowulf attains remarkable intensity of expression through the resources of Old English.

This book was more fun than it had any right to be, given how dry the subject matter is often treated.
