Awesome 2nd volume

Really enjoyed the 2nd series. The MC grew as a person. He went from fighting bad guys to trying to help the planet as a whole. Little cliche but with great power comes great responsibility. The VAs are excellent and learning about why humans in the series are the way they are was a really cool concept. Definitely as good if not slightly better than the underverse series as it takes place here on Earth.

Great second volume

Great second volume to an awesome series. Enjoy how we learn more about John and the secondary characters grow. Definitely a fun read. Love John’s character makeup. Calm and collected and deadly when he needs to be. More people learn of his true identity and their reactions are great. Recommend to anyone who enjoyed book 1 as this in my opinion is even better.

This maybe one of my favorite books I’ve read so far. The premise is unique and the power system is great. The MC starts out as a loser of sorts but becomes a great guy with a good heart. If a fan of his underverse series you will love this. Honestly enjoyed this more than book 1 of that series and can’t wait for a book 2.

I really enjoyed this. MC is basically a low key walking force of nature who wants to live peacefully and for the most part does. Has exactly 0 f*cks to give. Never has to act scary it just radiates off him. Hope this is just the start of a great series,

Another awesome volume

Already read the kindle version and looked forward to the audible and it didn’t disappoint. Every volume you learn a little more about Hadjar and the world but then more questions appear. Love that the cultivation isn’t just straight forward either. You can’t just sit and meditate and become stronger. Best of all the taking of lives actually effects Hadjar. It’s realistic in that sense. Looking forward to listening to volume 13.

Having read further along on royal road I had been waiting for this volume to drop. Without spoiling the book it’s been my favorite volume so far. Well worth the wait and the narration really sends it over the top in my opinion.

Became so invested I picked a side.

First off loved the novel. As a lover of history the blend of the religious zealotry of the crusades, the use of firearms, as well as the fantasy elements were a huge win in my opinion. Became emotionally invested within a few chapters so much I was actually rooting for Kevah. Think saying it’s similar to GOT is apt since the author isn’t afraid to kill important people. Honestly couldn’t put it down. The narration is some of the best I’ve heard on audible. Costani reminded me so much of Constantinople and the religious backgrounds were very hashed out and believable. The twist were unexpected and the ending made me immediately search for book 2 which I bout immediately on Amazon.
