The Strength of Authenticity

This author stripped herself and her writing of any mask or presence to give the world a glimpse into how people who have benefited from racism deny it and never count the true cost of their bias and tunnel vision. So called “white” people view history in terms of white affirmative action instead of the myth of black inferiority. They do not benefit from being superior. They benefit from the deck being stacked and the game being rigged!

Convicting and inspiring! You cannot be a white nationalist and a true follower of Christ. White Nationalism is a false gospel. It does not draw men to Christ; it makes men flee the church! True believers have to live the love of Christ by embracing Justice for all.

I will listen to this again. I fell in love with the three central figures. I marvel at the inhumanity that Black people have had to endure at the hands of white people. The unbelievable stories of our
beauty and heroism is what white book burning is primarily about! Civics classses should be reestablished and this book should be required reading.

The Nagoski twins have written a love letter to the world by writing this liberating epistle to women. Every woman set free from human giver syndrome will release other women exponentially! I will share this book with every woman I know and love.

This analysis of sexism in the church prompted me to consider the fruit of the poisonous tree that has contaminated the whole nation including church and state. The Black church rewards our males because they were victims of racism while the white church worships the most racist, unChristlike man they could find. We’re Black women any less victimized than Black men? When it comes to Black men are those footprints in the sand Christ’s or a Black woman’s? Now, Black men are saying that Black women hate them because Black men have taught their women and children that the community can survive despite them,Black women whether CEOs, mammies or sex workers have supported their men’s egos be they school drop-outs, ex-offenders or confidence men, etc. Black women have been superwomen that Black men took for granted.

I Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author has mined much wisdom from living in a society dominated by white supremacy, and spoke it with authenticity and passion. I consider it a must read.

This book was both light and heavy at the same time. Primarily due to Amber’s style. She is able to get you to laugh while shaking your head at how preposterously painful systemic racism is. I will always remember the three exemplars: J C Penny, their parents’ daycare business trauma (aka Tulsa), and the Black history “ no contest.” I am firmly committed to not “dragging white people into the light.” Amber, Lacey and their parents are a national treasure!
