Historia
As the power of Nazi Germany grew alarmingly during the 1930s, the French sought means to defend their territory against the rising menace of the Thousand-Year Reich. As architects of the most punitive measures in the Treaty of Versailles following World War I, the French government made natural targets for Teutonic retribution, so the Maginot Line, a series of interconnected strongpoints and fortifications running along much of France's eastern border, helped allay French fears of invasion.

Historia
Dying is what changed Mary O'Reilly's life. Well, actually, coming back from the dead and having the ability to communicate with ghosts is really what did it. Now, a private investigator in rural Freeport, Illinois, Mary's trying to learn how to incorporate her experience as a Chicago cop and new-found talent into a real job. Her challenge is to solve the mysteries, get real evidence (a ghost's word just doesn't hold up in court), and be sure the folks in town, especially the handsome new police chief, don't think she's nuts.

Any additional comments?
This is a tricky one to review, normally if i like a book i finish it, i dont like a book (can generally tell within the first hour) i will return it, however this is a grey area.
I like the concept of the book/main character because it is an outside the box approach to a mystery and one i have not come across before (besides ghost whisperer).
However that is about as far as the entertainment went, the narrator does an ok job, but its no award winner and the book itself is written in a slighty disjointed manner in some parts and pretty terrible in others.
The plot line did keep me guessing towards the end which was a bonus, despite the most inaccurate gunman and unstrategic killer. It kept me entertained enough to finish it, but not entertained enough to listen again.
If you like the sample audio give it a go, but if your on the fence give it a miss.

Historia
In 1998, William Queen was a veteran law-enforcement agent with a lifelong love of motorcycles and a lack of patience with paperwork. When a "confidential informant" made contact with his boss at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, offering to take an agent inside the San Fernando chapter of the Mongols (the scourge of Southern California, and one of the most dangerous gangs in America), Queen jumped at the chance.

What did you love best about Under and Alone?
Inside look at the clubs, the people, the structure and the crimes.
Any additional comments?
I had overall mixed feelings about this book and law enforcement as a whole.
We have quite alot of trouble with bikie gangs here, so it was great to see inside one of these (mongols have only just moved to Aus which will cause tension with very violent existing gangs), however i was somewhat struck by the ATFs intention in some cases to avoid involment in a crime (which i understand) but not to attempt to prevent the crime itself. An example of this was the 3 strippers that were the centre of a plan by the bikies.
I was also interested in the ability of officers to become corrupted through the indoctrination of the club, to view it as a brotherhood and almost be reluctant to testify.
Despite mixed emotions I am glad I read it, as it was as educational as it was a great yarn. I am glad that there are still those out there who can avoid corruption and stand up to do the right thing and sacrifice nearly their entire life in the process - definition of a hero.

Any additional comments?
This is a great course indeed, as others have mentioned it stays more on a legal side than a technical side, but does cover alot of topics with just enough detail.
If your after a technical view, stick to kindle, machine code and programming code dont translate well to an audio book format (not that there are any in this book).
If you want a great overview, a look at where we are heading, social and legal impacts and some great stories (i.e stuxnet) then this course is for you.

Historia
Western Ocean, 1942... From the bridge of HMS Gladiator, Lieutenant-Commander David Howard’s orders were chillingly clear. There could be no mercy. To the men who fought to protect the vital, threatened Merchant Navy convoys in the Western Approaches, the Battle of the Atlantic was a full-scale war. A relentless, savage war against an ever-present enemy and a violent sea - in an arena known only to its embittered survivors as the killing ground. HMS Gladiator was part of that war.

Beautiful book, but not unabridged!
Revisado: 09-19-14
Any additional comments?
This book is amazing, and i have loved reading it ever since i was a child. However this version does not include the amazing prologue that hooks the reader before the main story even begins.
Please add the prologue to this, otherwise do not claim it as unabridged.
This book is still an amazing read however and i recommend it for all, history buffs or not.

Historia
In February 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers in the Russian Ural Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incident—unexplained violent injuries, signs that they cut open and fled the tent without proper clothing or shoes, a strange final photograph taken by one of the hikers, and elevated levels of radiation found on some of their clothes—have led to decades of speculation over what really happened.

A great, still puzzling story.
Revisado: 09-11-14
What made the experience of listening to Dead Mountain the most enjoyable?
His theory as to what happened and the cause, it was not one I had heard before, and is very plausible.
The book also gives great overall coverage of the events leading up to and following the incident.
What about Donnie Eichar’s performance did you like?
Read like a documentary, the way it should be done.
Any additional comments?
This is a very good overall look at the incident, I wouldve liked to have seen further examination of the facts about the radiation levels, as this is a cause for nearly all the conspiracy theories, but is only given roughly 1 minute of attention.
I also believe the avalanche theory is somewhat glossed over and ignored, as although it is not likely, compared to the attention given to the authors theory that seems on the same level of plausiblity, it is not given near enough attention and dismissed to eagerly.

Best basic introduction currently on audible
Revisado: 09-10-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Gives a very basic introduction to economics. Although its basics on an almost Primary School level, given the current economic understanding of the general population this is where most need to begin their learning.
Any additional comments?
This book is comparable to both 'Economics in one lesson' and 'Basic economics' but would sit at an lower education lower. If your looking for basics on supply and demand, inflation etc. Get this one and work your way up.

Stumbles along blindly
Revisado: 09-10-14
Would you try another book from Oliver Bowden and Anton Gill and/or Gunnar Cauthery?
Yes, another book, to see if this was a one off poor writting performance and a later novel might be better.
I will look for another narrator though.
Would you be willing to try another one of Gunnar Cauthery’s performances?
Possibly.
I do not like to single out one individual for a poor performance, especially considering the novel he had to deal with was poor to begin with. But the main concern was the different voices used, while i commend him on managing so many different characters, these sounded like the most Scottish Venetian's I have ever heard.
The various accents realy did not suit the setting.
Any additional comments?
Id use a spare credit for another of these novels and not pay in the future and I urge you to do the same. Story is not well written, very repeditive and lots of italian thrown in for no good reason. Narrator also uses accents that do not compliment the books setting and period, which adds to preventing the reader from being immersed in the story.
