Did not disappoint. Loved how he wrapped this up. It was definitely worth the time commitment. So many surprises. 🤯❤️

This was such a good story! The prologue was gripping and I was hooked from then on. It was a little creepier than my normal reading/listening/watching fare (I’m an unapologetic wimp) but still not nightmare inducing. Not gory, just intense. I absolutely loved Bea. She’s the kind of tween every parent wants. I spent the whole time trying to figure out just what was going on and couldn’t decide which route the story was going to take until it was actually revealed. Highly recommend!

This was a fun thriller. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I spent the book wondering if Julia was going to find her brother safe and sound or not, is Wraith trustworthy or not? Collins? Do I not like this character because they are the bad guy or a red herring. I felt Julia’s stress as she tries to stop the bad guys while also trying to figure out what is true and what isn’t. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is a fun YA fantasy. The writing is very good imo and the descriptions are illustrative without slowing down the story. Their battle against evil is exciting and kept me interested. The best friend Liam was good comic relief. Looking forward to book 2.

Good character progression. Interesting to learn some of the culture of the characters. Narrated beautifully.

If you liked book one then read book two. Don’t listen to it. The audio quality was horrible. Sometimes hard to understand. The narrator is not a professional and mispronounced a lot of things and doesn’t do the accents very well.

As for the story itself I was not impressed. I was frequently confused or annoyed by the turn of events. The book starts by unnecessarily changing the genre of the story. Book 1 was dystopian revolution. Book 2 added in werewolves and vampires for some reason. It had no bearing on the story at all and the opening scene (spoiler) introduced people and things that didn’t come back in at all. Maybe they are in book 3 but why introduce them if you don’t need them for the story? I was so confused. There was no reason for the vampires. It could have just been another nation. The fact that they are vampires wasn’t important to the story. I may not bother with book 3 but if I do, I will read it and not listen.
